Location of Wire Stripper
on: June 29, 2007, 11:42:37 PM
I always assumed that the "V" notch on the can/bottle opener was what LM described as the "Wire Stripper" in their specs, but I just saw that on their website, it points to the hard wire cutter section as the wire stripper. But on the Juice line it doesn't claim to have the wire strippers, but a hard wire cutter. What gives?

The wire cutters are what I use to strip wire...maybe that V notch on the can opener is for cutting strapping or string?

Hehe, I think the Leatherman website guys screwed the pooch on this one.  :D  A download of the user's guide for the Blast-Fuse-Kick shows the v-notch listed as the wire stripper. (#14)

Tim's not gonna like that!

Hmm... thats kinda what I was thinking, and the user's guide proves it. While we are on the topic of LM website screw-ups, did you ever notice that the picture of the old wave in the "retired tools" section (the page that show them all) was really a picture of the new wave? It's fixed now, but it was that way for about a year I think.  :D
