Nice set up GG, and I'm glad you're here :)

I'm using the LM bit kit, LM bit extender and a Pocketwrench II as my mini kit. I do have a really small ratchet somewhere but I buggered if I can find it at the moment

Add a decent multi (usually a Ti) to that and I think I have the basics covered without too much weight or bulk.

yeah very nice set up GG , now i need a mini kit  ;)

The Engineer in me just hates using toothed jaws to turn nuts and bolts. :-\

+1

I carry a 6" Craftsman in my kit for that very reason. Hate leaving a bolt head looking like a dog chew toy.

GG, nice set up.

Thank you very much, you made my day!     I'm going to add a bit extender for sure, and I was able to track down an Atwood ruler.  :mail:  I'm also going to add the 4-1/2" slip joint pliers that Styerman suggested.  :tu:

Thanks everyone for your great ideas, let's keep them coming.  ;)

An extension for Vic Ratchet, holds in place better and gives longer reach. Nice kit GG  :tu:

Where do I get one? Any pix??

Dave, that would be cool!  :D

Milspecmonkey has them. They are slightly offensive though :D

But that is the true beauty of them :D :D

I took your guys advice and made a few changes. Missing from the picture is my Atwood Funnybone. This total setup weighs 26.5 oz which I think is pretty good for a real basic edc toolkit. Anything else missing?

Boy was I off!  ::)  It was 26.5 oz which is 1.6562 pounds or 751.26 grams. When is the US going to switch to the metric system? It would make life so much easier.  :D

I've never been able to do the oz to grams thing if that makes you feel any better mate!

Should you have some tape or paracord in there do you think?

Tape measures are cool.   The 3 foot Stanley tape measure fits in any pocket.   :tu:

Dave, I'm just talking tools in this part of my bag. I have other edc items like paracord in another pouch.  :tu:

I added a 10' tape measure, but I kind of like the 3' one that Parnass has.   :salute:

Thanks Mate!     Yep, I had to order the extension bar separately because I didn't even know that they made one. I bought two actually.  :tu:

We're listening :)

I've been trying to find a folding steel ruler that will fold down to 5 or 6" and have had no luck at all so far. Maybe a tape is the way to go :tu:

I'm with you brothers. That's why I carry a 4" adjustable wrench in the side pocket of my Charge and a 6" with my Surge.

I used to carry a three foot tape, but...

As you can see, the Stanley I carry is tiny and slim for a full 10' capable tape.

And it has a diameter scale. Useful on pipe, rod stock, etc.

Nice. Looks like it's not much bigger than the 3'. I'll have to look for one. Thanks.

Right,my Mongo was too big for EDC when not at work. So I have a jumbo on the way.

I'm thinking of adding
A Swisschamp
Pocketwrench
Artifact
Small steel rule
and the Bit kit for my Wave

Any suggestions?
I'm also thinking of throwing a small 'stumpy' screwdriver in there will a few bits.

Sorry I never put up a link for the zippo tape thing - just search that in ebay and it will show you plenty of options usually. They are mostly in the US but some can be had a reasonable price despite them being a bit collectable it seems.

I had another thought about the measuring conundrum. For those of you who like to carry paracord, how about carrying a lighter colour like tan and marking increments on with a sharpie? It wouldn't be accurate to the mm or anything but you could certainly reckon centimetres or inches fairly closely by marking say, every 2" and 5cm in different colours. Just a thought for a multipurpose thing :)
