As a dedicated Gerber Multi Tool user you could try to convert me to one of these pretty looking butterfly type thingy's to see if they are anywhere near as good as you lot make them out to be. :P

Hi Def,

Nice contest, but since I have one already, I won't include myself.  Nice tool - hope the winner appreciates it.

Cheers - Joe

Hi all! I have lurking around here for quite some time. Buying the right multitool can be like buying a new car, just so many brands and options! After reading reviews and all the information here I still am undecided but have been leaning toward a ChargeXTI.

This would be an awesome way to make my decision for me.

  • Rule #9 - Never go anywhere without a knife.
10. Charge ALX looks like a "BIG" tool that a "real man" should carry every day on the job

 9. The Charge ALX is a nice size, light weight and has anodized aluminum handles

 8. Needle nose pliers are a must on a quality multi-tool as well as a fixed lanyard ring

 7. Built in wire cutters are a necessity , especially for a bomb disposal technician

 6. AL has 2 blades - a clip point and a  serrated blade - a must have for 1st responders

 5. A set of V-cutting hook is also a required tool to have for a  1st responder

 4. Unbeatable ergonomic grip, outside-accessible blades kick it up a notch.

 3. Leatherman is a USA company

 2. I don't own any Leatherman multitools

 1. I really want this Charge ALX to EDC on the job

I don't think I can compete with the dude in the picture, so I am not going to enter this one!  Ouch!!!

I have a brand new Wave ...  and there are others here who have a better reason to win!

Thanks!!

Count me in.

Since I carry a Leatherman knife in 154cm, I know how good those are.  My reason, just cause I want it.

Because the only bad Leatherman experience I ever had was with a Charge, and I want to give the multi-tool another chance.

Who wants it?  Post here with (at least) one good reason it should go to you!

If you would be so kind as to give it to me I would do a in depth detailed review along with many photos and post the review on Multitool.org

After having it for 3-4 weeks (time to finish the review) I would then give it away again to another multitool.org member! :)

I'd like to enter but if its alright with the management, please give dakota the tool if I win--thereby doubling his odds.  I liked his response.

Why I should have the LM:

1. I live in a very tropical 3rd world country (Philippines), where all of my past multi-tools have rusted or have shown the effect of too much humidity. Hence, the aluminum model would be ideal for testing here.
2. I know and fully understand the worksmanship put into these multis and fully appreciate their intrinsic value 'til the day I die (or even after).
3. This particular model of LM is not yet available in my country (none of the shops sells LM's here, I've had to get mine thru ebay).
4. I would be willing to pay shipping for the item to my country.
5. Most Important of all; I just lost my LM-Surge in a boating accident and I NEED A NEW MULTI-TOOL. PLEASE?  :-[

I want it since it has the same tools as my wave, but would be MUCH lighter for the back pocket carry that I prefer.  ;D

Thanks to Multitool and Leatherman for offering this prize, I hope to have a chance to win it myself.

I should win this by random merit alone.  I can't say I am different than anyone on these forums.  I own a Leatherman Charge XTi and know what a great package it is.  My brother (an electrician) lost his Charge Ti, and I know he misses it.  If I were to win this contest I would give it to him, so he could use his Leatherman at work as I do.

Thanks again for the contest and the great prize.

So I can give my supertool to my dad for when we're fishing or working around the house...he always borrows mine and won't let me buy him a new leatherman, so if i get one for free he won't have an argument not to take it!

plus..my kick needs someone to look up to.... ;)

I would like to throw my hat in the ring ,so to speak. My reason would be that I couldn't afford to buy one myself and that I would use and take care of it as one should a fine tool.

Some reasons I should win the Leatherman Charge AL...

- I own several Leathermans and will post a great comparison/review
- I will pass it down to my 3 year old son (Tornado-Boy) who will use it to implement his take over of the world
- My Surge needs a girlfriend
- Tim Leatherman is my Brother... Well, in spirit... We've actually never met and he probably wouldn't like me anyway. (Lighten up Bro')
- I have a little more room on my belt

Thanks,
Dave

Please count me in on this. I need it, no kidding, for my daughter. I need to teach her the value of being prepared and self sufficient.

How do you teach someone self sufficiency by trying to get a tool given to them? :P
