I voted SOG too.  Leatherman, Victorinox, and Wenger all produce excellent quality tools, however SOG is the only company that seems to truly trust their customers.

.... or they expect lots of breakages to the thin tools and would rather the customers did the Warranty work for them. Just a thought really ;)

at least they have a lifetime warranty, compared to leatherman's measly 25 year one  ;)

Best tool? A roll of duck tape. A typical pliers based multi-tool has maybe a dozen or 2 functions. Duck tape has billions of functions.

For all of the above I agree with those that say it goes by the job you are doing.  In fact you will find all of the majors listed here.  I do carry others but these are the most common EDCs.

1.  On the farm - SOG powerlock, the compound leverage is great.
2.  At the business - VIC spirt, works well with computers repair.
3   Around home and most of town, LM sideclip.  No too noticable.
KF4 if not the sideclip.  Looking to see what to replace these with but have not found yet.
4   Fishing Gerber 400 Fisherman
5.  Hunting, Case or Buck folder around 110 size or Case marine knife. SOG powerlock
6.  Electrical work, Bear or Paladin.
7   Camping either SOG or Pulse
8.  Dress up. - Micra, Squirt

So it really goes to how you use them to state the best.  Others will have others that fit their hands or jobs better than these do.  This is my list.

Who made the Crunch? This work of art tool is an evidence that LM is the best tool maker. IMHO :)

Call me a racist git, but I love me some Victorinox.

I carry a LM, I've spent over $1,000 on leathermans (pocket change compared to most here), but there's something about SAKs. Something that I'm not sure the USA designer(s) can grasp. Something do with form and function.

Leatherman is the Pierce Brosnan of James Bonds - Effective, but loud and classless.
Vic is the Sean Connery. Smooth and and charming, and can usually get things done in more style with less collateral damage.
