LAPG or CountyComm Bail Out Gear Bag
on: February 15, 2010, 04:54:25 PM
Does anybody have these bags? I am thinking about getting one. I have some questions though. Can the main compartment hold a standard 3 ring binder? Also, could the secret compartment hold something (a netbook) that is 10.28" by 7.19" by 2"?

Mine is at work so I can check on the net book in a couple days.  Yes the binder will fit.  It's a very durable bag.

I have a County Comm.

Some binders will fit, and some won't. I have a nice binder from Staples that has rubber edges on the cover, and it will not fit well enough to zip the bag. (BTW.. their house brand binders are very well built... see link: http://www.staples.com/sbd/cre/products/090614/merch023952/index.html)

But standard 8 1/2 x 11 is no problem. You'll find something that will fit fine.

As for the netbook, I doubt that you will be able to fit anything that large in the secret compartment.

Now.. is it a good bag? Yes, for the money it is a steal. But it is not as durable as a Maxpedition, so expect it to wear. Mine was EDCed for about a year, and it has a few wear spots on the outer tube shaped pocket. They are not holes, not yet.. but they will be.

So if you are rough on a bag, you might want to spend more for something tougher.

That said, I love the County Comm BOB, and would buy another in a heartbeat. It is a lot of bag for the money.

Thanks glorn. As long as a standard 3 ring binder fits, I'm good. The main pocket is divided right so you could but the netbook in one section and the binder in the other.

I have the County Comm.  I have used it for 2 or 3 years (I forgot when I actually got it) it has worn very well.  For me it rides on the passenger seat of a car, strap around the head rest.  I dont know how hard use Glorn used his, but for my use it shows no wear.

Thanks guys. Right now both sites don't have black, so I'll be waiting a while.
