All Gerber Military Models To Be Discontinued !
on: February 23, 2010, 07:00:12 PM
Sorry for starting a new thread but, I think some of you want to know this. Gerber emailed today & stated all the Military models are discontinued. If you want one I don't know how long the supply will last. The Military models will be replaced by the Recon M2. It features an integrated white, red & nvis (IR) filters. It is however, about 5 3/4 inches long. Not really a great length for EDC at least for me anyway.

What's the difference between regular and military?

The M's made in the US to a higher standard, has a harder anodising (type 3 I believe) has a second O ring, a lense cover and is generally tougher :)

Stronger  heavy duty clip as well! The beam is more narrow with less spill than the Infinity Ultra which has great spill.

Anybody know what's his reserve is? Really hate these hidden reserve auctions.

Also what's the difference between regular and low detect?

NVG low-detect supposedly prohibits detection by night vision goggles

But as far as LED color/output/beam is concerned, does it look different from the regular version? I tried google but couldn't find anything on it.

The only Military one I have is the white led version. I can't comment on the NVG one. The white led is slightly dimmer than the IU. It has a narrow beam with some spill but, nowhere as great as the IU. It has a lens to keep crud out like dirt, sand, water etc.. Battle conditions type light.
