Another one for WH867
on: February 25, 2010, 01:45:31 AM
I'm sorry, I forgot to leave feedback upon receiving my older Leatherman PST.   It arrived promptly and in much better shape than I expected!  It was the big logo PST with the broken bottle opener for $22.00.  I drove it over to Leatherman (about 10 minutes from me) and turned it in for repair.  I left instructions that if they couldn't do it without ruining the rivet, to just mail it back as is.  Well....I got it back today and the bottle opener is fixed, BUT...there is now one knurled screw to go with the remaining 3 rivets.  Grrr..!

Strange thing is...the knurled screw is on the side with the plier head, not the side with the bottle opener.  That one is still a rivet....??  Honestly, I can't remember if it was like that before I turned it in, but no matter.  I'm still very pleased!  Thank you WH867!

Best regards,
FC

It definately had 4 rivets when you got it from me. If there is a bolt on the plier end now LM either swapped PSTs or just swapped in a whole handle assembly on yours.

Thanks for the picture, that helps a lot.

Yeah, I'm thinking they did a swap of the whole side.  DAMN!!!  It is weird though because looking at the  Leatherman PST chronology project, I think I now have FrankenPST.  I'm not sure, but it looks like they have the correct old file, the new bottle opener, the old screwdriver, and the new spike thingy.  I have to pull it back out and take a real close look at it.

Anyone that has one of these?  Wanna post some hi-def pics of the tools opened, one at a time?
