What's wrong with me? Wave vs. Charge
on: February 27, 2010, 06:19:00 AM
One of the first tools I acquired was the Wave and to be perfectly honest, I loved it...

But after seeing the Charge and all the raving reviews...As expected for a gear freak...I bought it...

Loved it as well...

but;

Here's the thing...

Even though to my hands the Charge IS more comfortable to hold when using the outboard tools, for some reason I kind of prefer carrying and using the Wave...

Does anybody else inexplicably prefer their Wave too?

I like my Wave.  But have'nt carried it since I got my TTI.  TTI just feels better in my hand.    I would prefer the wave over the AL or ALX

Yes I prefer the Wave to the Charge . I do like the Charge but the Wave just seems more practical and cost effective .

I love the Xti due to the titanium and premium steel blade but I go for the Wave more cause it seems slimmer and more sleek

I agree with David's assessment in general.  Asside from the guthook, the Wave is more ergonomic to me for EDC than a Charge TTi.  HOWEVER, I prefer the Charge ALX for many applications because of 1.  The guthook (one of my favorite features) and 2. Two onboard drivers, which means I don't have to carry a bit kit.

(Generally I don't need scissors on the farm either).

I do the same as well. I pick up my Wave rather then my Charge

I like the continuous flow of stainless steel on the wave better than the separate panels of the Charge, though functionally they are so close for me I could be happy with either one.  I also like how the Wave matches the Surge so well, its kinda neat to have both, whereas there is no larger brother for the Charge.
