What Is Your Best EDC Light?

My fav's are the Arc followed by Infinity Ultra & Fenix E01. Looking into getting a Nano by Streamlight also. I change them around daily & am most happy with all of them. So, whats yours?

While not my /best/ edc light, my go-to light on my person is my Maratac AAA, however I may end up seeing a nice Quark order from 4sevens sometime in my future.  :climber:

LD01 on the keyring which I use pretty much every day.  Great little light.

If I want a really good light for general use I stick my Olight M20 in the pocket.  Just got an M21 but I've not had a good opportunity to test it out properly yet.

I should add that my Eagletac P10A stays in my bag kit at all times.  A very groovy light IMO. 8)

I've played around and carried a few lights and the one that does it all for me is my Surefire A2.  Absolutely superb build quality, lovely beams, both incan and LED and has a great pocket clip.  Could not ask for more really.

With regards to smaller lights, I love the ARC-P.  A bomb explosion wouldn't affect that little thing.
I'm back!!

I would like to say that my Novatac EDC 120P is my best EDC light.  The build quality is very good, the beam profile is superb, and it has the best UI of any flashlight, IMO.  However, I can't say it's my best because I only use rechargeable batteries and, let's face it, RCR123 batteries leave much to be desired in power capacity.  So, I only use it as a "tactical" light with my handgun, running on 17670 Li-Ion.

So I will name the NiteCore SmartPD D10 R2 as my best EDC light.  I carry it the most by far of the many EDC lights I own because of its versatile UI, durable build, and great pocket clip.  They finally got the beam profile right in the XP-E version also, with a good combination of flood and throw, smooth spot/spill transition, and none of the Cree rings that the original XR-E version has.  The single AA/14500 format is preferred for my EDC.

Most carried is the Surefire E1B , the Novatac 120 EDC is getting a lot of belt time lately . Byfar the best , tho not carried very much is the McGizmo McLux III PD . The reason the PD is no longer carried is that the Alum. versions are no longer available . Since EDC lights are expendible ordanance , I don't like carrying something that can't be replaced over the counter .

ATM mine is ITP EOS A3 running 10440 riding in my coin pocket during the day, at night it resides on my nightstand as I find the low level meets my needs.

Out walking the dog at night I use my 8WFP mostly I use the side switch for 130 lumen's and if I need to see further into the dark I use the tail forward clicky for 300 lumen's.

For my bump in the night go to light I have my 16WFP 580 lumen's this again I can use on side switch at 130 lumen's if desired.

All my lights are rechargeable so quilt free lumen's  :tu:,tho this will change when I get my maglite XL100 takes primary AAA's x 3 but these can be had here for £1 a dozen+ so I could say quilt free lumen's as well  :D

Finally I have a sunlite pistol light with reflector removed when I need pure flood

Oh I should mention I can use the sunlite heads so I have a headlamp too  :D

Unfortunately, the model with the original "ramping" UI--the one I carry-- has been discontinued.  Battery Junction recently had a limited run made though, so it is currently available at the link below as the "Tribute" edition.

Some EDC "honarable mentions" are:

4Sevens Q-MiNi AA (travel light)
ARC AAA-P Snow (worn around my neck)

If by "best" you mean "most carried", that would be a Maratac AAA and a ZebraLight H30-Q5. If going by "best quality", I'd guess my Inova X5 and Vic 2xAA(A?) would tip the scales.

"Best" its something that change everyday according with the situation. Nevertheless I say the ones I use the most are: outside, the Fenix TK20 and for EDC is the Mini Quark Ti, both with neutral emiters

I tend to keep the ITP EOS A3 with me on the keys all the time. If I have my bag, I have a Zebralight H501 fixed on the strap with the headband carried in case I need it. My other option for decent light out walking at night etc is an LD10.

I would like a big meaty thrower but want to stick to AA format, so haven't found the right thing yet :)

I don't have a huge selection but I'm currently using this one.

Romisen RC-A4  :tu: Would I be correct in saying this Romisen is 'similiar' to the Nitecore Extreme?  ;)

I know you didn't ask for my opinion, but I consider JetBeam to have the finest quality of any Chinese-produced light.  In fact, there are very few US-made torches that rival JetBeam's quality.

Thanx

How do you find the jetbeam ACHE?  I've been thinking of getting one for a while.

I found this model on eBay but I've also seen them on the CPF Marketplace.

It's one of the most powerful single cell lights available with more throw than many larger lights.
It's a little bigger than the average single CR123 cell light but for the power one gets...I call it a fair trade off.

If You do get it...I'd recommend going with quality rechargeable's like AW cells, because the "Hi" mode can be programmed to pump out 3 amps of power! (most lights output less than 0.9A)

It is fully programmable, so one doesn't necessarily have to include an Insane High level, and many users program the HI mode to be less than full throttle and keep it at about 85% which is still quite powerful.

Romisen RC-A4  :tu: Would I be correct in saying this Romisen is 'similiar' to the Nitecore Extreme?  ;)

They do look very similar...someone asked a few days back on the similarities between the two; so I made a small chart comparing the two and another similar looking light called the Super Defender. Heres the same chart I had posted in the other thread:

Thanks for this ACHË  :salute:

So it 'looks' similiar and that's about it  ::)

Can I ask what the difference is in Type II and Type III Anodization?
