What gos into a Spyderco
on: March 01, 2010, 06:38:42 PM
A guy on Spyderco forums took his Cat apart and polished it up to look like the it's bigger brother the Sage. I decided to give it a go. Here is a shot of it taken apart. Lots of little pieces for such a small knife.

It went back together good. Wasn't as hard as I thought.

great.  I've heard some guys complain about some of their knives as being a bit
tricky to reassemble.  If mem serves me I think it was an Endura.
I've only taken apart a Kershaw and a Sog to change out a torsion bar.
Well at least down the road you can check out how it's wearing and clean and
lube it.  :tu:

... or you can omit the slabs and pretend it's a one-of-a-kind frame lock Cat... :P

Here's what the new polished Cat liners look like next to the Sage liners.

Yeah you almost start to think along the lines of what the extra $ are for,
for the Sage?  :)

I really love the smooth, balanced action of Spyderco folders.  :dd:

I don't understand why everyone can't make a knife which has such a lovely feel.

I love all sorts of knives, but you know, I have to agree with you in that if I carry a Spyderco
knife around lets say for instance a "Delica", after using it for a period of time, if I go to carrying/
edc something else I just find it's usually awkward and less efficient.  Lot's of great knives but
hard to beat the efficiency and use of the Spyderco!  :tu:
