Holy thread necro batman! Has anyone determined if the plain cross gold alox Pioneer was a special run? It looks as if the plain cross model was made at least some point after the +PAT was dropped from the can opener. At least one model was paired with matching brass liners.This is also an awesome thread that needs more visibility, imo.
So ... after reading all of the above it seems that my unknown Pioneer is a very rare 1970's * 2220 Ub (USA)

It's called "crinking" and is done on purpose to fit all tools in a smaller package.In fact it's done so precise that it shouldn't be noticeable when the blade is opened.

Thank you I did ask him if there is any scratch on the blade, and he said none. This is one indicator I use if a blade's alignment is not as designed.

Same thing with Cadets and Sportsmans with the file.... and most soldiers that have seen any use, blade rub from the awl
