Those multitool beach shots always make me nervous Dunc. I can read those evil grains of sand just like a book. Every one of them are just waiting for a chance to get inside the works and start the grinding and galling process.

Those multitool beach shots always make me nervous Dunc. I can read those evil grains of sand just like a book. Every one of them are just waiting for a chance to get inside the works and start the grinding and galling process.

There was a bit of sand blowing about  But as this is where I live I'm kind of used to it . You should see my car  Summers worse when the kids keep dragging it in the house on their shoes and clothes .

I find bluetak great for removing sand from tools  and a good flush out with WD40 . To be honest I've never had any excessive wear induced by sand from what I can tell . Although if you drop them in the sand it can take a bit of cleaning .

Do you really need Ti handle slabs ? and I'm going to stick my neck out here and say 95% of people think they need S30v or 154CM when in truth its more like 5% .What can a Charge do that a Wave Can't ? apart from empty your wallet quicker   Theres alot of people with super steel blades that can't even sharpen 420

All that said though I'm still after another Ti Charge

i didnt get it for the blade i bought it for the extra bit driver

I've nothing against them at all . Both 154CM and S30V are superb steels and I have one or two knives with it .Wish I had kept my Ti from years ago . But really where money is concerned the Wave is an awsome tool .

I've never had a close look at an alx so I can't really comment . I don't like the Leatherman badge stuck on the handles , although I imagine that wouldn't effect function in anyway .

Speaking of which, does anybody know if the main blades of Charges and Waves are interchangeable?

Niko pretty sure Kwakster provided some lucky devils here some Charge blades for their Waves , I think slight sanding of the blade's flat section was required too fit the Wave

Dave I didn't know bendy handles were a problem ,I've never heard that before.Wouldnt a Wave with a cap crimper head be able to open nuts ?

surly if there was no wave there would of been no charge  i cant compare as only have had the old model and now the new one, so far i can see the improvements to the wave and i like them, i still feel this is a good all round MT,
