Please advise - ST300 sheath
on: March 18, 2010, 08:01:16 PM
I'm looking for a non-leather(ish) sheath for my SuperTool 300 and am considering waiting for the new MUT sheaths to become available or perhaps something else. TAD gear has some nice looking sheaths - anyone have experience with those?  Or is there another brand you might recommend.

Thanks in advance for your input.
Steve

FYI they don't come with the side pockets of the Wave/Charge sheaths and only have the one for the bit kit card.

It's also worth mentioning that they do not make great belt sheaths, as they are designed for attachment using MOLLE. Great on your Maxpedition bags - will ride very high or very low on a belt!
I used to come here a lot.

do they go sideways?

Only on a 1" belt (MOLLE is 1" webbing).

this is the problem i have with the wave pouch , my belts are wider, the ST300's pouch is wider a works great, i do like the newer leather LM pouches,  :tu: i think ill have to get some narrower belts  :D

Just pair them up with "Malice" clips , they will ride any which way you want . Heinnies prolly has those too . One of the few instances where the world needs more Malice .

You guys in the UK are screwed , as the literature show that you have to use an unfired 5.56 round to undo them - just kidding !

The Leatherman MOLLE sheath has a press studded piece of webbing attached, so you don't actually need a Malice clip - same sort of idea as Maxpeditions Tac-Ties. You can use that to attach to your belt obviously, but as I say, it's going to ride very high or very low - you can't attach it half way down the sheath's length like most LM sheaths for example.

This is the 1 I use came with my h502 :tu: Of note this is the larger of the 2 nylon ones as they both look the same but the other 1 is for the smaller knives :) It is holding up very well and I also carry the adapter and bit kit in it as well
