Hey, I hear that every male in Singapore is required to do a stint in the army.  That true?  I got a buddy from there who trained to become an electrical engineer in the singapore army

FC, yeah, the standard National Service liability is 2 years, or 1 years and 10 months if the new recruit happen to get an acceptable grade for his physical proficiency test prior to enlistment. Hmm electrical engineer... interesting. I don't think many people received such training from the SAF?  But I'm a Combat Engineer myself, under the EOD family.

Hmm electrical engineer... interesting. I don't think many people received such training from the SAF?  But I'm a Combat Engineer myself, under the EOD family.

He is the gadget guy I someday hope to grow up to be    Everything he gets into (for brief periods) he goes all out on.  I pull out my nice $600 Canon camera, he pulls out an aluminum briefcase custom fitted to hold his $6,000 Nikon.   lol, he is not a showoff though, just a very nice geek that loves his toys.  When he got into mountain biking, he bought a couple all carbon frame bikes, one for rough housing and one that became his pet project of replacing every bit of steel on it w/titanium for super strong, light travel.  I can pick the bike up with 1 finger.  When he got into remote control cars, he paid tons in mods and upgrades and his car can hit over 60mph.   He is hilarious.  He is half deaf, but an expert on sound so he actually has his own "memorex" room with only one chair in front of a huge tv.  His speaker system in there has been individually measured and tested to be the exact distance from where his head rests for perfect surround sound.  He rigged every one of his doors and windows with home made alarms trips that will not only start a huge red light flashing in his bedroom (since he has hearing issues) but will also start his bed vibrating so he is sure to get up.

when his car was attempted to be broken into, he went to radio shack and rigged up remote mini cameras in it, under it, around it outside and busted the guys trying again a few weeks later.  dude is my hero, lol

Sounds like quite a character. Interesting friend you have there FC.. mine.. well.. the largest extent of craziness they can go to is drinking half a bottle of Absolut and went running around campus when I was still in school.

I see. Perhaps next time you would consider investing in a good tenderizer.. marinating the corpse carcass fillet meat would yield you a nicer steak too.

  the only complain Mike should have is that the grill is too small... and that he have to cut the corpse carcass fillet meat into smaller pieces before cooking... AH! That must explain Mike's penchant for saws on MTs.

Actually yes, but only for the Jehovah's Witnesses. They would instead be put under 3 years of close arrest with the allowance of a visit by a family once in a while, and would be assigned to do odd jobs for the SAF. I guess being a combatant and drawing a regular allowance in this respect is fortunate compared to those poor men.
