HELP
on: March 25, 2010, 12:44:32 AM
OK I have come to the realization that the Swisstool is the one for me. I know that I will most likely get rid of most my others. So.....
1. I want the wrench, bit kit and sheath for it all. Direct me please. I cant find them anywhere. (or PM me we can work something out)
2. Bantam. I have my Niel custom that I carried every day since owning it. However I am now gwtting bored with the scales. So I want dayglow, or GID or some other color, with the cut out for the phillips. I know the bantam has no phillips, but mine does!! Anyone know what I need. I really am too lazy to measure it all, and I get lost looking at options.

As above. If someone can do both, we can work something out, but I really am clueless when it comes to SAK.

So Please give me info!!!!

From personal experience - and an idea that Zack gave me (which is correct, also) - I would suggest you get a second regular SwissTool or Spirit sheath and place the ratched and bit kit (which is better than the wrench, IMO) into that; the sheath with the MT and the accessories sticks out on me massively.  I would suggest contacting the Catman or looking on Amazon for the ratchet with bit kit, plus a separate sheath that matches the one you have now; you can just lace the two sheaths beside each other or on opposite sides of your belt.

Second, your Bantam sounds more like an Apprentice, but I must also confess I do not know of any 84mm Stayglo scales; so either existing scales must be modified or handmade scales must be created.  I'd contact either Rotokid or any of the wonderful modders on this site - maybe Rp252 could contact that carver and get a load of scales shipped off to the US, with one pair with your name on it. ;)

I am having a hard time visualizing what you mean. Could ya post a pic?

I thought they made a sheath that fit it all.

I don't have the larger, all-encompassing sheath with me, though they do make it; it's just that the depth of the sheath is too much and it causes the bulge of the sheath to stick out on me like a sore thumb.

But to explain what I mean, here is a leather Spirit sheath, minus the usual Spirit, but instead (loosely) holding a ratchet with bit kit, and should also hold the bit extender bar, too, but don't quote me on that.

And for what it's worth, go for the ratchet, as shown, instead of the L-wrench; this has better reviews between the two. :)

I'd give Tim a try for the tools, and Rotokid for the scales.. www.sosakonline.com has a link to both thier stores.  I don't know if Tim has the wrench or ratchet listed so if you don't see them, send him an email since he may have them for sale..

Hawk , I rock a Spirit , ( almost as capable as a Swisstool - Queen of the midsized multi's . ) . I have taken to throwing the accessories into a cheap assed nylon zip bag , what you see shown is a Snap On 1/w"hex ratchet , an adaptor to 1/4 drive , a bit storage system and a Leatherman Universal tool Adaptor . I carry the bag in my pocket , or else briefcase or daypack . I have made a few wallets  for similar paraphaneilia , sorry no pics .

Does that ratchet allow you to also mount the bits in the bottom of it? or is that just a bigger handle?

Head and bottom will both hold a bit , it also has an extension you should order . The only reason I don't use one is that I  already have the Snap On 1/4" hex ratchet .
