I have purchased a Swisstool today.
A good  companion for the Pioneer X.
I did some research about my new Swisstool and find out that this is a 1998 model.
I bought it this week new in a hardware-store. Now I understand why they could not find the box, It was already 20 years in the showroom

WOW no-one wanted it huh?  Good you rescued it then.  I love my Swisstool and keep it in my vehicle at all times.  I also carry one from time to time when out camping or hiking.  So much win with this tool.

I bought my first Swisstool and Spirit at a local army surplus store, and they gave me a nice discount on them since they had been there for a while and nobody bought them.

About a week after buying my Swisstool and Spirit, I went back to the shop and told them I wanted to buy two of the three remaining Spirits they had for sale (two normal ones and one Spirit plus), and after negotiating the price for a while, I ended up with a great deal on both of them, and when I was paying for them the guy at the counter gave me the Spirit Plus for free, since nobody else seemed to want them ...  :sa:

That's how popular the Vic plier based tools are around here apparently ...

I'd be happy to help Belgians get rid of these unpopular abominations, should you come across any more of them at a good price  ::)  :gimme:

You can't find them anywhere in stores over here, at least not in the stores I go to ...

I think Stunkel and I must have bought all the available Swisstools in Belgium  ;).

Now you mentioned it, you can indeed nowhere find a Swisstool in a Belgian shop. Not even in a AS Adventure.
Sometimes they have a few old ones in a hardware store, hidden in the back.

Same thing with normal SAKs. A Spartan, Swisschamp, a 111mm Rucksack ans some 58mm are almost the only SAKs that they have in stock.
The most SAKs i have come from Ebay or webshops in Holland and Germany.

I WANT A BIG VIC-STORE IN BELGIUM  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

Let's contact Victorinox and tell them we need a Victorinox store over here, and that we know two guys who would be perfect to run it ...  :pok:

Make sure to mention this if you contact Victorinox. They need to remedy this situation and you two probably look the part.  :drink:

Just bought my first swisstool. This is my first multi-tool since I bought a PST not long after they were first introduced.  Good to have locking tools. Just have to search for which model I've got.

Can someone take a picture of their swisstool plier head with them open? Most pictures have them closed. I would like to get a good look at the wire cutters. Are they the same as the spirit? Are they larger or about the same size? Thanks.

I've got a couple of pics with the pliers open, I hope these will work for you ... (if they don't, let me know, I'll take some other pics  ;)).

I took some new pics, compairing the Swisstool and the Spirit with open pliers (not the best pics I've posted here, but since it was dark outside I had to do what I could inside with crappy light conditions ... ::) ).

Just received my first spirit, and only my second Swisstool. Fairly pleased so far although the pliers were super tight. Some inox soon loosened the grease which had set a bit. Definitely no play anywhere including the locking tools.

I'll just call this thread "home"!

As mentioned in this thread before by Topgear-24, Swisstools are quite hard to find in Belgium, in all it's variants.

Only seen 1 BO version before, which I bought and can be seen in the pic.

Online national second hand site:
2 swisstools (of which one bought) and 3 spirits (of which also the BO) in nearly 3 years of daily lurking.

Nice setup!
Is it unused?
When I bought mine, some of the red printing was gone.
I know someone else who has 2 and both have it.
