Cool, how you finding that MaxP sheath? I like mines but it does stick out quite far when on the belt.

It has arrived, as expected an excellent piece of engineering, typical Swiss, place it next to a LM or SOG [I own both] and it does IMHO outclass them, as I have owned SAK's for many years, I am not surprised, it just oozes quality, well worth the extra dosh.

In fact "The Dogs Danglers"

Whilst the leather sheath for the swisstool is excellent, I would like to have a suitable backup nylon pouch. Can anyone recommend a suitable pouch, Molle or other.

If you don't need to carry the plus kit, I think Ripoff makes the best nylon sheath for the large SwissTool. The only problem is I don't know which model to recommend. It might be CO-32, because it looks like it just fits a little tall. Any way if you like them (I have a Clip version) I think they are the best because they are very tough and fit like a skin keeping the overall size of as small as possible.

had a spirit for a while, and saw this one for as something for my other backpack. Swisstool X, '98 pliers and strange rune stamped on one handle. It is a bit harder on the fingernails than the spirit, but I'm getting the technique down.

One of each, RS, X , BO, and Standard. The extra two are Standards, just to have as backups because of the 6-8 week warranty turn-around time $:-\$ . All but the RS are cheap eBay snipes, the RS I got in a trade with Al. The BO one is a used beater (you're seeing it's best side in the photo), but I like the Vic oxide coating so much that I just ordered a new one for "good". You know, just something to go with Sunday clothes

I didn't realize how big this thing is!

But I love it already. It's just built like a tank! A quick question though- I don't have a sheath for it. Will the Vic Spirit sheaths I see on Amazon fit it, or am I SOL? For the moment I have to see it it will fit in a Leatherman sheath.

EDIT: Never mind, found a Swisstool sheath on Amazon, have it OTW. Wasn't looking hard enough I guess......

Glad you like it.

I would say your Swiss Tool has no chance of fitting in the Vic Spirit sheath. I would suggest buying a Swiss Tool sheath made for your tool. They can be had for a decent price and will fit your Swiss Tool like a glove.

P.S. I had no idea it is your first Swiss Tool. Welcome to the Club.

Removing a screw from a water heater element

Pulling an old rusted out piece of galvanized vent piping from the chimney wall

Using the Vic's ratchet to put together my wife's shelf. You can see the fully loaded SkinthXL in the background.

Using it as a mirror to see how far I have the 3/8" supply nut screwed on the dishwasher supply.

Here's a good one. Everyone always talks about being able to use 2 tools at once. Precisely what I had to do with this Kohler Ceramic Disc Cartridge and it's handle extension

Perfect tool for this job! Tightening a plastic wing nut on a Gerber toilet tank to bowl bolt

I hope I haven;t imposed on your thread with al the talk about my Vic Spirit. I gave my 1st SwissTool to my brother-in-law in Belize and my 2nd one to my wife. So I don't have any pics of anything but the Spirit.
