It's SAKrilege I know, but it has been months (possibly 9+) since I last carried a cellidor SAK.  I have used them for the odd thing around the house, but none have really seen any decent carry time. Well today I am going back to my good old red buddies and have pocketed my Technogolfer, a Scibeer custom.  I'm keen to see how I find it today and see if they have a place in my EDC once again.

I'm back!!

Good luck with that mate, personally I always carry either a swisschamp or swisschamp XL on my right side in a sheath next to my zippo. This backs up my swisstool X with the wrench on my lefthand side.

Any pics of Technogolfer?  Don't think I've seen it before.

Hope you enjoy your day of carefree SAKs :tu:

You can't go wrong with a "proper" looking SAK IMO.  All these Soldiers and Farmers are all very well but they're a bit short on tools.

Now I know I have seen the Technogolfer but for the life of me I can't remember what it's like.  Three layers including a file or some-such?

I'm like you , other than my Rambler I rarely carry a Cellidor SAK . Alox pretty much does it for me . That may change when I get my Cybertool 34 .

I get plenty of Cellidor pocket time.

Really interested to see how you get on with this Ben.  Hoping for some pics as well :)

Ah, I knew I was barking up the right tree.  Cool SAK that, did it get any use?

A little off topic, but how are the SAK files?

I've never really had one (I think I've got a champion somewhere with one?)

I really miss a File when I carry my Kick, would a SAK (locksmith or summat) be able to pick up the slack?

They look like they have more of a hacksaw edge than LM files too.

Knife saw some use, as did the tooth pick and the phillips on one of Ella's toys.

It is fitted with plus scales as well BTW.  :tu:

The new type files are much more aggressive than the older ones and a definite improvement.  So yes, they're OK and the saw edge is good for cutting off screw heads and the like.  I personally am not their greatest fan though as I like my files to be textured right to the end.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Pretty much sums it up.

The new file is much more aggressive, although the old style file works fine, the old file doesn't have as good of a tactile sense as the new style.

Since I usually run a file from tip to base, the fact that the new file doesn't have cutting surface to the tip doesn't bother me much.  If the texturing didn't go to the base, THAT would be a problem.

IMO, the new style cuts in between Leatherman's diamond coat and the standard Leatherman file.

Thats a real useful looking SAK mate.  Has it tempted you into carrying it more often?

It's the overall feel I think.  With ALOX and a nice slippy it has a nice weight and feel to it.  Cellidor just doesn't have that.

Fair dos mate; each to his own and all that.

I constantly slip back and forth between my XTi and Ranger.  I'll carry one for a week or so and then switch back to the other.  Occasionally I'll carry my ST300 instead if I feel like something a bit more substantial.

That Technogolfer looks to be a great little tool though mate - compact and with a good amount of functionality.  I'm surprised you don't carry it more often.  To be fair though, it would probably remain a shelf queen in my collection until I had a second one :)

I agree for the most part, as I tend to bag carry cellidor models, rather than pocket carry them :)

It's a shame you've turned your back on them though :-\

Ok, I kinda feel that I want to give these guys another go so as I am at home I have swapped my folder in for a Forester with a nice lanyard and the corkscrew screwdriver.  Maybe the nylon scales twinned with the increased heft will encourage me to return.
