I'm still on the slow side of the spectrum here.

(Image removed from quote.)

And finally I have a chance to update this thread.

(Image removed from quote.)

And after not having internet access since yesterday, changing of some cables upped me up again and improved the ping.

I don't think I am too pleased with the current "speed" we are getting....

My ISP called yesterday, since they've been absorbed by a larger company (Vodafone) they are sending us new sims for our phones and upgrading our connection from 100mb to 300mb (they're sending a brand new router too) at the same cost.

so here's a couple of before we swap:

Clearly inferior. Your ping doubled with the new switch... better go back to the 10/100 and send me the gigabit switch :pok:

I know, I was teasing.

In a slightly related note, I may also be changing providers in the near future, which means I can move from ~15up/1.5down to 50up/5down with a lower price to boot.

Free upgrade
It should be a bit faster, in reality,, as there are some devices accessing the net, youtube etc, but it gives you an idea.

We downgraded a while back as our monthly rate seemed to gradually go up instead of down after our old provider was bought out...

Yeah, me too.  I wonder why I am paying for a top tier home connection when my mobile connection is better.

I've only got their lowest one. I decided the lowest one was fast enough for me when I wasn't doing as much huge file downloading

It's fast enough for streaming  :tu:

This is what I am paying for:

Quote
Up to 50 Mbps Down / 10 Mbps Up

Which is not even 10Mbps over the next step down of 25Mbps down and 10 up.  I could save almost $15/month by dropping my speed down, but I'm not sure if the speed would also drop to 60% of what I am paying for...

Usually, phone Internet providers are capped pretty low on the amount of data, so there is that.  Even T-Mobile, which has claimed to be unlimited here in the US, slows down your data access to abysmal speeds after 30GB(I think), whereas my Comcast limit is 1TB.

But yeah. You would think the home Internet speeds could hold their own.

That's great! Comcast recently upgraded us to 100Mbps download speed over cable, but my upload speed peaks around 12 to 13 Mbps.
