Need.....faster....connection.

100M shortly! Then we'll be having some fun.

That's my speed at home.

At the moment I am in northern Michigan @ the summer place using wireless tether on my Android with an ad-hoc wireless connection to a DD-WRT flashed Linksys with two additional access points. One on the beach and one up by the garage.

It's not the speed I'm used to at home but at least it's full 3G on Verizon with 'Net access for the whole family. (And I'm in the middle of nowhere!)  It's actually pretty neat the way I have it set up. If I wasn't leaving for home today I'd make a short video.

Blast all of you!  :twak:
My connection is barely a fraction of most of you guys  >:(
It's like 3.5 Mbps down and 192 Kbps up.

You all got very nice speeds!

Here's mine from where I'm working now:

At home I have a worse connection: 1Mbps/256Kbps.

Then again, results like above are typical here... ;)

Here's my latest, done on my desktop, two rooms and a hallway away from my router.

Supposed to get fiber any time now, so I thought a reference might be nice.

I'm actually pretty happy with this; I'm paying for 10Mb and it seems it's actually what I'm getting.  Also the upload speed is twice what it was last time I checked.

Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Upload: 2.86 Mb/s

Whatever that means :D

The second test linked on the first page:

Download: 56.82 Mb/s
Upload: 44.44 Mb/s

Hah, that's funny :)
Most of those speed test sites are not very accurate. I prefer downloading a large file from a fast web server and calculating the speed myself :)

Exactly!

Phooey on HTTP for accurately measuring transfer speeds. Only good for an estimate.

I actually get about 70-80Mb/s via FTP when downloading HUGE RAR's and Speedtest gives me this BS..

My 4G LTE phone is almost faster..  ;)

This the speed at my apartment. It's a 10mb connection, so I'm getting what I'm paying for.
And I have no idea why it chose a server in Ramallah.

I have an upgrade to fiber optic service on Thursday morning.  I've been waiting for it for a while now, and it's finally happening.

No idea.  I don't think there are different offerings with the speed here.  I do know the main box is across the road, and if there are different speeds available, we likely would have gotten the top one since my wife works for the phone company and we get a discount.

Just reset my modem this morning and got better speeds.  Since our modem is required for TV and internet I have been putting off resetting it since every time I think of it my wife is watching TV.

I'll post an update again in a couple of days when I have fiber and we'll see if there's a difference.

How's the reliability? Cable or fiber?

It's not reliable at all. I've had problems for almost 2 years know, though not all the time. It got worse after the upgrade from 40/4 to 50/5 a month ago... It really sucks since it's a combined internet/tv/telephone package; at times none of those services work at all :(

I've called their customer support line more times than I have called my mom this year :D
