Looking sweet.  :tu: Nice haul mate. Though I'm not usually a big fan of SAKs.. I rather like the detailing on this one.

Very nice,that's really beautiful

Yes I did get that it from ebay recently.  I way overpaid, couple of other high bidders besides me pushed the price up, but they don't seem to show up on ebay.com too often.  I've posted more info on SOSAK, but I've seen significantly more and much better prices on European auction sites.

That looks a bit Irish  :D :D.
Love the colour  :gimme: :D

The Color is a yellowish green and is very nice, one of the things I really love about it.  I have a thing for color. The leather case is more of a blu-ish green (but not as blue-ish as shown), but I found both of these colors are very hard to color match, so I expect not every CRT is showing the shading exactly right; which really is always the case, but in this case the slight tint makes a big difference.

Yeah. I lost it by 4 dollars. Good thing I was at work when you won it.  :D

At least a fellow member won it.  :salute:

You are right...I tend to prowl the eBay.ca forums. I rarely go on the US site.

Just to clarify, I was meaning the 'Michel Jordi Knives' don't show up on ebay.com very often, but they do on European sites.

I, being of a rather dyslexic disposition, was wondering why the hell Michael Jordan was putting his name to a SAK....  ::)

However, this Jordi character seems to have a nice idea or two :D

I'm not 100% sure yet, but information so far indicates yes, at least for the emblem.  If anyone has the definitive answer I'd like to know too.

I'd be curious to know as well.  Mine shows no sign or tarnishing but it could have a thin lacquer layer on it I suppose.

Perhaps you could dip yours in battery acid? If it corrodes quickly and rots away, then its not gold. :)

Last year I got some infos from Victorinox about the Michel Jordi knives.
These knives were made in 1995/96 exclusively for Michel Jordi.
There were 3 different models (classic, spartan, climber) in 4 different colors (red, green, black and blue).
The corkscrew and the ring are gold-plated.
The special emblem and the flower-pattern of the scale were made outside of Victorinox (but I guess they were assembled completely in Ibach).
There was also a small special run of these knives with a corkscrew made of solid gold. I have no info about the price of these solid-gold-corkscrew-knives but I guess it must have been very high, especially considering that the normal Jordi knives are quite expensive.

Interesting stuff Duder, thanks for sharing :tu:

I would have thought solid gold would be too soft to use as a corkscrew. But perhaps the correct alloy would make it strong enough?

Resurrected this from nearly 10 years ago .... but in my defence I have been looking for one for a long time and now I have one I thought the thread should have a gold corkscrew .... not gold-ish :)
