Sounds kind of like Bill Murray in What About Bob when he believed he and his wife split up because he liked Neil Diamond and she didn't!

Nice to see you working hard anyways...   ;D

You know, this thread has been very educational.  I always wondered who the hot Goth chick in your avatar was.

As for the sexy gothic girl, she,s a cgi image i found on the net, but she imbodies most of the things i,m drawn to in  women, dark, mysterious, vulnerable and slightly unhinged :o

i think maroon 5 summed my taste in women best, ''girl with the broken smile'' that,s what i,m drawn to ...

Reminds me of a joke on one of my favorite cartoons, Trippin the Rift.  Darf BoBo is at the pharmacy and the pharmacist asks if he needs anything else.  BoBo asks if he has anything to shut his wife up and the Pharmacist says "If we did, we couldn't keep it in stock."

Is it any wonder there are few, if any women on this forum? :P

Hey, cool thread going here! I'm kinda wierd when it comes to music, I don't really have a natural ear for music, but one of my best friends through high school was a music nut with an incredible ear and he love talanted improv most of all. He's the kinda guy that would hear six notes instead of a strum and every instrument seperately instead of just a song. So I kinda picked up his taste and style of music-listening, and like to give any style or band a chance. Goth/Metal etc. isn't my preferred style, but I can appreciate when there's some obvious talent, and can enjoy or at least respect much of it from that standpoint. I'll have to check out some of the numerous links here and widen my music experience a little!
Here's a few of my favorites if anyone's interested!  :)

Phil Keaggy: My all-time favorite. He's now fifty-something and still tours, I've seen him 4 times and was amazed each time. He's been recording albums since the early seventies and is on over 50 by now. He's an amazing guitarist (and an OK vocalist) and really shines when he's by himself with one of his accoustic guitars. He often uses effects and loops to create a multiple-track song (rythym, precussion, bass line) without skipping a beat. Another amazing thing in concert is how he plays with multiple tunings, sometimes changing in the middle of a song!
(Edit: I forgot to add piece of trivia- He's missing a finger on his right hand, which you can see in the second clip. It happened in a freak accident when he was a kid. Another trivia note is that he guested on 2 song on a POD album.)
Live with singing:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDPM4-YIF9c&mode=related&search=
In studio instrumental:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4VeLajv0tI

Another band I've been enjoying recently is a Northeastern Brazilian band Sal Da Terra. (My family lived there for 4 years when I was a kid, and we still have friends down there) I have about 6 of their CDs, which were actually bought from down there, and I can't find much at all by them on the interenet. Here's a terrible video of YouTube that must have been taken off an old digital camera, but it gives you and idea of their style. Their CD's are properly recorded, but this is just them playing around while sitting in hammocks (very traditional Norhteastern furniture  :D )
The backyard version of Quem Me Valera:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXOpXwL2qHU

A third (and my previously-mentioned-friend's favorite) is Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. He's a crazy banjo player, but does much more than bluegrass (more like jazz, but not really that either) and surrounds himself with other amazing and slightly eccentirc musicians. The bass player must be one of the best out there.
Big Country:

The bass player alone:

I love classical, some jazz, and some classic rock; but my all-time favorite band is pop-rock, so:

Pop-Rock
Classical
Classic Rock
Jazz

(in order from most to... least most)
