It does cut thread more easily than it did the paracord, but it's not a clean cut like you'd get with a pair of SAK, Squirt, or Micra scissors. Piggybacking on a key and not taking up valuable key ring real estate is certainly a plus for the KeyTool, so I still like the little bit of utility it does have.
I picked one up yesterday but have only just opened it. I'll play with it a bit and see what it can do

I added a small rubber band to secure the KeyTool to the key. So, hopefully that will reduce the chance of me unexpectedly grabbing my thigh and hollering, 'Arghhhhh!', which might throw a sense of confusion or panic into those around me, as I stroll through the local wallyworld. The herd is easily spooked...
