What's next?
on: October 03, 2006, 02:13:05 AM
I am atill waiting for a LM Crunch to arrive and I think I am pretty well caught up on my latest round of ordering.

I think my next purchase is going to be either a Charge but I am not 100% certain which one yet.  I also have my eye on another SwissTool X, and one of Leathermans new pruners since it seems no one has one of these yet, and it might be a good idea to try and get a review posted.

Other than that I think I'll just grab anything that catches my eye in the near future, which happens often enough.  I hate buying something from a store because they are usually way too much more expensive than internet prices, and I like to support our dealers, but there is definately something about a multitool that jumps off the shelf, grabs you and begs you to take it home....

Well, I guess I have egg on my face!  I managed to snag a Leatherman Mini Tool instead of the expected Charge, so I guess that I was wrong!  I have been looking for one of these on and off for a while now and just happened upon this little critter with about 30 minutes left on the auction.  Before I knew it I had accidentally won it!

The mini tool and a classic SAK would be a great combo that would be able to carry out most jobs, hummmmmm

Def, where did you get the mini tool from??

One of the usual suspects...  eBay...  and worse, I just bid on a Kick too from the same seller.  I hope he hasn't shipped it already...

Be sure to try out the can opener on your Mini Tool when it arrives. It is a truly remarkable feature. You'll wonder how you ever got by without it.  ::)

Let's just say that the Mini Tool can opener is every bit as useful as the medium screwdriver is on your SideClip.

I dunno, I think the medium screwdriver on my Sideclip makes a great doorstop!

I've been saving up my pennies to place an order with Felinevet. I can't tell you what it is though, because I think Tim only has one left.  ;D

How are these tools as far as being practical?  Is it EDC Material?  Does it handle big jobs?

Okay, I'll tell..........as soon as it arrives.   ;D

Navajero316, are you asking about the Leatherman Mini-Tool? It uses the same size plier jaws as the PST. Even though the handles fold, they still seem plenty strong enough. As a plier implement, it will handle most jobs you would use any other multi tool for.

But where it comes up short is in its blade selection. It only has a stubby knife, and a stubby file. (Because of the way it folds, there is no room for anything else.) I think Ging has the right idea; If you carry a Mini-Tool for the pliers, carry along a good SAK for the blade selection.

Folded up, the Mini-Tool really makes for a compact package.

I can't wait to get it.  Even if it isn't the most versatile tool on the market, it is a valuable addition to the collection and a great example in the multitool evolution.
