I wish there was a timeline on the SOG pliers too, both of my New Style has 4xSOG on them..  :think:

The gear covers show it's a newer tool.  Much much better than the exposed gears.

I agree, I use to love the compound leverage but hated how they dug into my palms. I always refer to them as the "gears of madness"  :rofl:

Yup, that's the new plier head design.  A dead giveaway is the larger wire cutting area.

Over the span of about a year, SOG updated three major features on the PowerLock: the new plier head, the gear covers, and the piano locks.

Looks like you've got 2 of the 3 Jim :)

Ooops! :-[ My mistake, I hadn't looked closely enough to spot the piano locks. :P
