Owned about 50 G-shocks at one time during my heyday, these days down to only one, a trusty Rangeman.

EDC and OCD. A wicked mix.

NateJ, aforementioned GA 1000, which is the biggest G in my collection, does have a strap circumference of about 21 cm.
I´d suggest to have a look around in the PRO TREK model family. There are some models with one piece straps as factory option and some more that will accept them easily. If those don´t tickle your fancy, maybe let us know which G-Shocks you like and we´ll have a look what we can do to mod it to suit you!

This advice seems to be spot on.  Looks they have some Pro Trek models on bracelets, so I just need to confirm availability of extra links from Casio...

Well I just got one finally :D  My wife decided to give me my big gift early, and I convinced her to bring it to me a little bit ago.  So I'm now a proud G-Shocker, with the GWM530A-1 model, and I love it already :tu:  I'm still getting used to the feeling of a watch though, as I haven't worn one in months.  Plus, this one's a bit bigger/thicker than my last watch, but not too bad.  Mainly just the thickness that's a big difference.  I'll post a couple pics tonight.

I have a question, and it may be a stupid one   Does regular office light help to charge it, or is it strictly sunlight that will do it?  Just curious as I assume any light would do it, but not sure.

Usual office lighting will keep the charge at the current level if the watch gets around  8 hours a day and you use neither the EL nor the Alarm excessively.

I've owned mine for over 6 years and found that as long as it's exposed to a healthy amount of artificial light it will stay fully charged. If it does get low, a good flashlight aimed at the front is a great method of giving it a boost :tu:

Thanks for the info fellas :salute:  I likely wouldn't use the alarm much at all really, but the light may get used a bit.  Especially now while it's new and I want to play with it ;)  I have to try to keep it exposed though, as I am in long sleeved dress shirts at work, and the sleeves will cover it most likely.  I have to sort of tuck the top of the sleeve behind the watch to give it exposure.  It came at mid level charge, so I want to get it up to high.  I read somewhere that the charge can last a very long time anyway, even with lower exposure, but I'm not sure how valid that is.

Either way, I'm just excited to have a watch with a battery that won't die in a few months or more and then sit waiting for me to bother to track down a battery for it.

My G is also my first Solar Powered Watch,
In winter its a bit divicult : do i want to let my Watch Batterie charge, or do i provide my frists for frozen damage by putting they in the warm jacket...
I also work whit un natural light, and the G-Shock just makes "Ticktack" whitout Problems..
I think the Solarzell makes more power than the Watch needs in the same time..

What if your home is the Polar Circle, where half of the Year is Darkness ??
Your SAK is only fully yours, when it bites you, or you opend a Trink of your joice whit it
SAKs i have: Huntsman Light (Red Transparent), Workchamp (Black), Wenger EvoGrip S557 (Red), Swisschamp XLT (Red Transparent).. Swisschamp (Blue Transparent) Cybertool L (Blue Celidor (custom scales) , Huntsman (Black Celidor) , Victorinox EvoGrip S557 (Red, but sadly lost in my house somewhere) Victorinox Delemont S17 and S57 ..  , waiting for: Swiza D09 Blue

Just put it on a window sill for a few days to get a full charge if you can stand to take it off that long. A full charge should get you through a long sleeved winter without dropping below medium charge. Basically, don´t worry, it´ll be fine.

My friend made led light charger for his solar-powered watch. Used it now and then over night.

You could use those plant lights to charge. Nowdays they make them led versions also.

But waths the matter of a Sun Powered Watch, if you have to charge it via Elektrick Light??

The sense is,that it charge whyle you outdoors, as G-Shocks are for Outdoor aktivitis.., and you can cast away on a lonely island, but your watch works at least ten years because the Sun..

That's basically the impression I get, that I won't have to worry about the charge running out on me.  I do want to get it to full charge though, just to know it's there.

After a long time I have another G Shock on way to me. Been wanting a tough solar with atomic signal, one popped up going cheaper than they normally are, couldn't resist buying it with some Birthday money I had left over.
Should arrive tomorrow, pics to follow.....

I have a renewed love for the Mudman. My one pet peeve from previous ownership was I found the buttons difficult to press but that goes with the level of protection you're getting.

Nice pics :tu:
