So I'm having some G problems lately. The watch doesn't leave my wrist, which means it gets wet every morning in the shower. When I then go outside into the cold my glass fogs up for a bit. Is this a bad seal? And just today, the actual hands are lagging about two minutes behind the digital displayed time, could this be the battery?

Don't have a G but if it fogs inside, yes moisture has penetrated the case.

Not in any case a bead seal is the cause for that behaviour - G-Shocks are often assembled in tropical countrys wit hhigh humidity. The trapped moisture in the case may fog up if a sudden temperature change occurs. If taht is teh case, the moisture should be completely gone in a short time span. If the fogging occured lately on your watch you had for years, then probably a seal is going bad...
The lagging hands might be a sign of a weak battery. But also it may be they are misaligned due to a shock/impact. You should be able to realign them with teh hands home mode.

What model G do you have?!

GA-100. I doubted it being unsealed as it's not too old and has done it a while. It's also only a small spot in the center. How does one get home mode? Thanks lowtech

What do you mean by Home mode?

at the back, in a square, you can find the module number. if you google it you can get the manual for it

Hands-Home mode, the "hands" were forgotten - I guess you already encountered that setting mode on your fully analog G, too? It´s the mode whee you re-set teh hands to 12 o´clock manually to make sure the module knows where the hands are.
Though movement G´s can do that by themselves, they have infrared sensors below teh dial by teh cogwheels checking the hands position with each turn.

Im watching "the right stuff" and decided to look into astronaut watches. Turnes out the 5600 is one of the NASA approved watches.

There are more space approved watches, IIRC the 5900, the DW5600C and E(?) and some other Casios, too.

Guys,

I saw some great offers (around 20-25 EUR) for G-Shocks and for that I'd try one as you guys made me curious... thing is those models sell for 4-5 times that price on Amazon... you reckon they are genuine? The sellers have great local feedback, but still it looks strange:

at work now, so juts a quick answer:
Both watches pictured are fakes!
It is for example visible from the wrong sub-dial hand on the upper sub dial on the GA-100 clone and from the incorrect font for teh days ont the G-7900 clone. General quality/appearance is a bit off, too.
Thwe colour combination is not correct on both models, too IIRC.

Check the real models for comaparison

http://watchshock.com/archive/Casio/G-Shock/G-7xx/G-7900-1/

Buy from a reputable dealer, write me a PM.... :pok:

Just kidding, but if you like teh size of teh GA-100 I have a digital variant (same case)
http://watchshock.com/archive/Casio/G-Shock/GD-1XX/GD-100MS-1/
for sale or trade, I am sure we could find a deal. I guarantee it is a genuine Casio, of course.

Rule of thumb; New Casios for below half of retail pricing are usually fake. It does not mean the offered watches might not be accurate timepieces, but they are ripping of other peoples design and in many cases they miss key features of the original.

Amazing... and to think they both have over 1000 reviews with 98% Positive... everybody was duped...

Well.. to be honest, I'm not too crazy about the G-Shock design (to me a watch must have hands  :D) and I really don't have money to spend right now, diaper fund and all (I mean 20 Euros might have been feasible)... but you guys made me curious about G-Shocks.

I like the GA-110 most, though I imagine these are fakes too.

http://olx.ro/oferta/ceas-sport-casio-g-shock-ga110-gold-limited-edition-poze-reale-garant-ID45TLo.html

From your list I liked the G-1010D but dks snatched that one  :D

PS: Do note that before coming to this forum I could not understand why people like Opinels, or Moras, or Spydercos, or plier-baseds, or opts, or slippies, or spacepens... and now...

Let me have a look - If it does not have to be new, I think I can find something with hands in your budget.
I know the diaper fund too well and will gladly act as your pusher...

Both watches you linked to are fakes. AFAIK dks has a GA 110 fake he is quite pleased with, no?!
