...who has this compulsion: The irresistible need to try and tighten EVERY screw, nut, and bolt I see. If I see one that is obviously loose or not screwed down all the way I HAVE to tighten it, but lately I find myself pulling out my multi to check damn near every fastener I come across. A couple weeks ago I actually loosened a screw on my girlfriend's car's door panel, just to tighten it again. Because it was there, staring at me, teasing me.

Why do I do this? Do I have OCD? No. I just always find myself going around looking for excuses to play with my multi, so I go looking for things to "fix"  .

If they're obviously loose, I certainly tighten them right away.  I don't go around checking them though.

I don't go LOOKING for loose stuff, but if I see one I always want to check and make sure it's tight. I'm not wandering around the house searching for loose screws, but if I come across a new screw I haven't played with yet, I feel compelled to whip out the multi and make sure it's tight. Usually I don't do it, but I want to. Now if it's obviously loose, then there is no other choice lol. Thing is, I really don't give a damn most of the time if the screw, etc. really is loose, I just want to use my multi and look for excuses  So I propose it's not OCD. It's something worse: OMTUS. Obsessive Multi-Tool Usage Syndrome.

Your work is not done sir.  After reading some of your recent rants/posts about truck drivers and Gerber my guess is there is still a screw loose somewhere is your vicinity .

My local council (and thereby my employer) need's to get itself out of the sticky brown stuff first, as most of the major departments are being investigated for financial misconduct

I have a similar thing.

Every time I get something new and there is a way to take it and apart and PEEK inside then I do it.

I took apart a Benchmade Auto one day (boy that was a mess). still haven't learned though.

OH believe me Im the same way. When I was a kid I would always take my transformers apart to figure them out. I disassemble practically everything I encounter.
