Hello from Virginia
on: May 18, 2010, 08:12:46 PM
Hello everyone.  I found this site from doing a Google search.  I am here because I am in the market for my first multi tool and I am not sure what to get, what is a good value for the money, and to learn what is right for me.  I am a practical person so I am not interested in collecting them, just want a good quality tool that i can use when I need it.  :0

Welcome to the forums  :D

Have a look around and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. There are many many tools for various tasks. What tasks will you be performing with desired multitool?

I am really not sure.  All I know is when you need a screwdriver you can not find one.  You need to open a can of soup and the pull tab will not lift, you go to help a friend with a computer problem and he has no tools to work on it with.  Heck sometimes I like to go camping (does not happen often) and you need a tool.  I am visually impaired and am for now a house husband.  The multi tool is more of a want, a helping hand, a way to make things easier than a must have or a need.

Maybe I should save up for this one.

http://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-Swiss-Army-SwissTool-Pouch/dp/B0000224UE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1274242043&sr=8-4

My birthday is coming up so maybe I can get this one.  It sure looks like a better deal over a Leatherman Wave or surge and has a lifetime warranty too.

It's certainly a good tool - quite a bit bigger than the Wave though!

The Swisstool Spirit is more Wave sized :)

I used to come here a lot.
