Has anyone tried one of these:

From what I can see, it has the best of both worlds for folder and fixed blade, seeing as the carabiner would stop the blade from closing.

I was just thinking what a good UK legal carry a slipjoint knife of that design would be. The lack of lock would make it legal, but it couldn't fold on you!
I would get one of these, but I lack the funds  :(

Is this is they type of thing you where thinking of?

Blade locks open as long as you grip the handle,  although i seem to remember a recent conversation about needing to grind a few mm off the blade length to make it properly legal not borderline.

Sorry, I should have made myself clear, what I meant was that if someone made a knife like that, but that didn't lock, it would be a good UK legal knife.

Probably not. You see, the Revolution XT is not a locking folder with a revolving carabiner, but rather a fixed-blade knife with a revolving part that covers the blade when in the "closed" position... :-\

So, it's a locking fixed blade that folds.  Gotcha.
