Ok laura is getting quite good with the sickle on a stick.  As you know she is quite vertically challenged.  That's a lot of swings to bring you down to a size she could punch in the nose.

Paul,
It is Mate and its still got your name on it …....  just waiting for the right time to get my 'forge' up and running  ::)

I think I've broken either my computer, photobucket or the interweb as I can't seem to upload pictures to photobucket

Picked up some odds and ends today but best of all were
Two BAKs (that I paid too much for  )
And a rusty Elwell billhook that needs a new handle (probably paid too much  )

One of the BAKs is this one  ;)

http://www.eggintongroup.co.uk/brands/joseph-rodgers/military-knives/locking-two-piece-army-clasp-knife.html

Damn!!! I forgot about those BAK's...

Now you got me on that :gimme: street... :poke:

They are fairly indestructible, don't rust, not hard to sharpen and they are an EDC you are not afraid to use
Yes I like them :tu:

Another great morning  :ahhh

A bag, pair of leather welding gloves and an AC/DC T shirt for my little nephew  ;)
A bunch of chisels 4 good, 4 not sure about yet and a triangular file
A small (No110) block plan made by Salmens

A very rusty 'scout knife' (That I was very pleased to find)  :D
A British WW2 period Royal Navy seaman's clasp knife made by Harrison, Fisher and Co Sheffield England  :o
BAK in not too bad condition
A very dirty and stiff climber with broken scissors  :-\
A spartan with '3M' 'matt' scales?
A Tourist with 'BBC Brown, Boveri (& Cie)'  (very slightly melted) scales

Maybe the best of all is the (Made in) Solingen, German Army Knife?   :o

Lots to clean this afternoon

Do you mean 'the metal monster' David?
I'm not sure I would call it cool but I'm glad I've got one now,
Its a very big clunky thing, I don't think it will make it in to my EDC  :-\

To be honest I was lucky, all the folders/SAKs were from one dealer (shes sold loads to me over the last couple of years) so if it wasn't for her I would have only picked up the Scout knife today and a bunch of 'other stuff'
There was one other '50's BAK' on another stall (very used and over priced) and some metal splitting wedges for 3quid each (fair but I didn't need them that much)
But not one single Ax  :o

Been playing with the Scout knife today, Robinson (made in Sheffield England) Removed the rust with a wire wheel, Sharpened with my Lansky then resharpened the swedge that had been previously done roughly by someone with a file  ::)

Now I guess I will have to find a sheath for it

Today I was at my town's weekly street market.  In one section there are tables with traditional flea market sort of things.  At one of the tables I noticed a knife with a shield and cross on it.  As I picked it up to examine it, the guy behind the table told me, "That's a fake.  Swiss Army Knives don't have metal handles."  I told him I'd give him $5 for it, and he agreed, probably thinking there's a sucker born every minute....   ::)

If this SI is more than a few months old, I'd be very surprised.  There is no date on the blade, and almost no sign that it's been used at all except for a tiny chip in the edge where the blade probably hit the bail once.  A quick visit to Mr. Lansky, and this "fake" has been in my pocket the rest of the day and is going to work tomorrow.  :D
There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D
