The correct term which you should undoubtedly use is
"jamming thingy". or "That longish thingy with the spindle... no, the other one"

"The long thingy I used to fix the table with last year"
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

( off topic, but... Syncop8r... what's the message behind your profile pic? I've had some very nice ... ermmm... sessions ... on NZ DOC compost toilets and know that freedom campers can be a pest... but still I don't fully grasp the idea...)

You're onto it - it's from a site trying to educate tourists about camping here without disturbing the environment.

Does that plan involve a skateboard, two cans of adhesive and a vise?  ;)

Blackadder: You spent it? What could you possibly spend £400 000 on?
[Blackadder notices the massive turnip on the table]
Blackadder: Oh, no... oh God, don't tell me.
 Baldrick: My dream turnip.
Blackadder: Baldrick, how did you manage to find a turnip that cost £400 000?
Baldrick: Well, I had to haggle.

Thank you for the explanation!
Just read a story about a couple of tourists who went to ...do business... into an unsuspecting lady's wheely bin in her garden...
Maybe some tourists should wear diapers.

Ha! I thought about linking that one...
I have heard defacating on the tracks in the forests here leads to Giardia in creeks and rivers. Apparently it's acceptable to do it in Europe?

Well-no. Nonono. Noooooo.
It's just that a huge amount of pretty brainless Europeans are permitted to travel . Furthermore, "European" has become a somewhat lax definition for one's origin.

Thank god the only tourist I came across doing "so" (ten years ago) was a trouserless Chinese woman on the Kepler track.
Literally ON the Kepler track.

Well actually, I was trying not to say German (the perception is that that is who it usually is)!  :pok:
