I'm not sure Steve, what I should do is try taking it apart, playing with the bits and reassemble with new scales
I don't think I could make it any worse, can't be opened with a fingernail  ::)

I think it's a 'Ill do it one day' job (unless anyone out there really needs a project?)

Screwdriver was made for Southern Electricity board in 1997
and the brass is 9.5mm thick   :D

The little hand vice is stamped 1945 with the MOD arrow  (and the number 9/2961)

If that's not old enough for you the plane iron is stamped EP WARRENTED CAST IRON and 1915 or 1916 or maybe 1918  :think:    :o
