I spent way too much money on a small anvil this morning (it was probably a fair price)  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh
Also the biggest Kent pattern axe I have ever seen, 5lbs   :D

The anvil weighs 30kg or 70lbs  :dd: but I can't read the makers stamp
The little vice feels really well made, cast iron, there's no stamp and there are metric threads so its not an old English one

Thanks Mate, obviously I'm very pleased with it  :D

Used it already to take some 'play' out of my new Eliot Lucas pliers  ;)

Cool anvil! You'll not lose your keys with that on you're keyring, feller.  :D

I'm more envious than usual.  Nice anvil!   Is that gas pliers lying on the saw blade?

Nice anvil! 70 lbs. is still pretty big in my view.   I've never heard of Lucas linesman's pliers, here you'll typically find Klein, Proto, or Craftsman ones at the flea market, along with bargain bin special garbage.  I really like the round pipe/fastener gripping portion on them, my old Protos don't, which are soon to be replaced by a pair of Knipex that do.

You can't have too many hammers. I have them ranging from tiny little tack hammers to big 2 lb. ball peens. Different hammers for different jobs.  My problem is pliers--I have probably over a dozen pairs of several types of different sizes, from little electronics pliers to a probably 18 inch rusty, pitted pair of blacksmith's tongs.

When I started work the best Electricians owned Elliot Lucas pliers, probably the best and most expensive at the time    :gimme:

After spending too much on that anvil I should have stayed home but...
Nothing very 'multitoolie' today,
two Perfect pattern screwdrivers and the dark thing top right is another oldfashioned soldering iron missing it's handle  :)

Man it was very hot and crowded this morning  :ahhh
Scored a few good bits
The lock back only says Magnum stainless, does anyone know if it's by Boker?
The slippy is by Rodgers, Sheffield

The vice has a little anvil on top, I did tell someone at the meet I would keep an eye out for them a year or two ago (wonder if they still want one?  )

Do you ever wonder if some of the more canny sellers are deliberately adding rust to their wares because they know you then won't be able to resist ?   :pok:

...and here I was thinking Tony had dropped his standards.  That axe head is only slightly rusty.

My father picked up a Cold Steel Torpedo for $2 at a yard sale this morning; he had no idea what he was getting, just that it was heavy and weird looking; odder yet, especially given I'm on this side of the pond, he found an "Endure / Josh Beal & Sons / Sheffield" fixed blade that has a nice patina to it.  Perhaps I need to go to yard sales again?
