Just to show all the rust isn't currently in Great Britain..... I visited an estate sale this weekend. All this for $20 US.  The cross pein hammer is a 4 pounder.  The pellet gun is a Crosmann 66 Bushmaster. Disston keyhole saw, Stanley triangle square, two framing squares, a drill brace, tailor's scissors (12 inch), a Brinkmann 5D flashlight that works an not shown is a small pocket tape measure given to my much better half.

I got lucky at a garage sale three weeks ago and picked up this set of brand new air nailers for $20.  Never used, includes the nails, oil, goggles, and a carry bag.

Quite a few things from the flea market, I think I went overboard. ' I believe that aforementioned scalper called in sick today.

A few knives for $15

Three Electrician's Knives, two USA Colonial, the other Irish Imperial. The seller also threw in Queen, Colonial, and Camillus parts knives which I'm saving for backsprings.

Victorinox Classic w/pouch and unknown "Scout Knife" miniature.

From another seller,  Kutmaster USCG Rope Knife, $7.

2017-06-26_01-20-33 by cody6268, on Flickr

A few hand tools, $12.

Irwin Perfect Handle (marked with military markings, and was actually former military, as the owner was issued it) slotted screwdriver. Needs the tip reprofiled.  Now I see why Perfect Handles are so well revered, it feels great and indestructible.

2017-06-26_01-25-04 by cody6268, on Flickr

Krauter USA Pliers, needlnose/cutter and duckbill.  Stahwille Germany  snap ring pliers--the biggest I've seen. That one pair of pliers is $60 new. The duckbill Krauters need some work to the pivot, they were overtightened with a center punch.

And finally, an $5 like new US made Browning sheath, which cost a measly $5. Unfortunately, I scuffed it carrying in my pocket (didn't want to undo my belt in public). Dates to the 1970s, I think. It holds a Vic 108mm GAK well.

A military Perfect Handle!  Really cool.  Very collectable.  :tu:

I never seem to see any of those, but to be honest I refuse to get up early to go to garage/yard/estate/flea market sales.   Most of the good stuff goes early.

Tony,

....since you mentioned cleaning.  Any recommendations on how I should proceed with cleaning the metal ruler on the little rosewood Try square?

Also, both of the framing squares are really rusty with one having a layer of paint on the backside.
I don't have any receptacles large enough to soak them in vinegar so I'm considering wrapping them in paper towels and then soaking the paper towels in vinegar.  Then sticking them in a garbage bag for a few hours. Any other recommendations or ideas?

The problem with using vinegar is the steel will start rusting the second you wash it off  :ahhh

The square, do you have one of those erasers that has one end  for pencil the other is for pen? Try the pen end it should work and hopefully not remove any lettering, good for any brass on there aswel  ;)
The framing squares, I would just use a wire wheel, see if that works first  :tu:

Thanks for the feedback Tony!

I'm just hoping I don't mess up the Try Square.
FYI, I looked up the medallion on Disston keyhole saw.  My saw was made somewhere between 1917 and 1940. Not bad shape for a 70 to 100 year old saw.

The rubber is what I would start with it's nice and gentle, they make something like that to clean circuit boards with,
