The chisel cleaned up well, (but a bit short for mortises) it's a
Marples & Sons 8mm 5/16ths  mortise chisel
Not sure if I've done the angle right or even if it is supposed to have a secondary bevel  but it's probably good enough to open a paint ti:cheers:
Noooooooo!  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh
By the way, Paul Sellers does some great videos on sharpening chisels (and also restoring and sharpening Stanley planes) amongst other things. At the very least there is something relaxing and meditative about his videos.

Crescent  :D , for twenty Bucks it would have been rude not to  :salute:

 :D. I'm surprised you didn't notice the M1 bayonet  :pok:, but it is a little knarly with the duct tape on the handle....

I  hadn't noticed it  :-[
But I really wanted to rummage about in the box  :D

I'll take another pic or two of the more interesting bits. The drill brace is a Miller Falls No. 772. The file is a Nicholson Black Diamond.

Came across these in the garage today, (at the front) gave them a clean up on the wire wheel,
They are a pair of original Stilsons, I was surprised to find they are made in the USA  :o  I always thought they were made in the UK

The Clemac combination tool, does the cutting blade open up easy on yours? mine stops half way and i see no way of opening it without removing the screw, resetting blade then replacing screw, unless theres some knack of doing it?

(Image removed from quote.)

I wasn't ignoring you Borg, I've only just got around to looking at mine  :tu:
On mine I have to loosen the screw to open the blade then tighten
I should have worn my reading glasses when I bought mine as the glass cutting wheels inc the spares are all missing   ::)

You can take a Stillson and a long piece of pipe on the handle and you can crank down  on really large bolts!  Of course that's why many Stillsons over 12 inches have bent handles!

battery death wheel

I was also curious, so I googled it, and lo and behold the explanation was contained in the very best web site on the whole internet - that's right, our very own MTo   :tu:

"battery death wheel" seems to be a cordless (ie battery operated) angle grinder  :D
