The Ratchet is just stamped Japan, didn't turn, WD40 with some wiggling and now its good  :tu:
The multitool is cheap made in China kinda rubbish
The two tap wrenches are both made in England and really nice quality

(Image removed from quote.)

You should take the ratchet a part and clean it.  Japanese, probably very good tool. Expected the pruners to be low quality, still want one.

I'm surprised I managed to open the ratchet without problems
Not too bad inside but a few damaged teeth on one side of the 'cam' (?)
All cleaned, oiled and back together now
(Image removed from quote.)

Consider packing it with silicon grease.  Lasts longer.

Consider packing it with silicone grease.  Lasts longer and reduces friction.  You can buy repair kits for most of the major brand ratchets.

I shall ignore your advice this one time Yadda  :salute:
I feel that if you added grease it would hold particles and become cutting compound
I prefer to blast out any grittyness with WD40 then add a light oil

It works good enough for me at the moment  :tu:
Just to add that I can't remember the last time I used a 1/2inch drive at home, might have been working on my breaks or wheel bearings a few years ago, so it's not going to get used a lot in my garage

When I rebuilt a 1/4 SK Tools ratchet with their rebuild kit provided  by warranty, I used the small packet of grease in the pack, which appeared to be something like Vaseline.

What is the bicycle type wrench below your SAK?

That pruner MT is really weird. Most are butterfly type tools, not the Toolclip copy. I have a couple with pliers--they're pretty crappy.  However, working in and around the garden, having something super cheap you can afford to beat up is always a plus. Gotta love the weeder tool on all of that variety of multitool.

I'm hoping I can go to the one near me on Monday. My grandmother is wanting to go to a greenhouse which is pretty much next door to the livestock market where it's held.

Those tools are great. I've got a couple of sets that used to belong to my grandad and they are still going strong.

I appologizie for horning in on this conversation, but I need some points of clarification on a few items.  What brand are the locking pliers in the upper right corner and what size are the Bahco pipe pliers? Nice finds!  I especially like the mattock. I look forward to seeing the horn put to good use on knife handles and other odds and ends.

Thanks Paul but sometimes it's hard to leave them in that field (there were quite a few axes there today  :ahhh )
