I like the look of the adjustable spanner.  Thin sides allow you to get into tight spaces.

Not a car boot find as such... But since Tony resides mostly here I need to post this here as well...

A friend of mine found this mora knife on his property couple weeks ago, apparently lost by the previous owner of the house.

This is how it looks after vinegar and linseed oil treatment (as suggested by yours truly because of Tony's teachings)

  :tu: Tony, you da man!

So, what are the threads for? It's exactly opposite what it should be for mounting onto something, say a stake stuck in the ground.

My quick googling suggests some sort of industrial (or ship's) thermometer.

Rectal thermometer for a hippo?

 :P

The "lumber" stamped in it doesn't help me much either.  :dunno:

Not sure,  it's from a Lumber company, my first thought was that is almost looks like a plumb bob. I'm wondering if it had something threaded that allowed it to hang.  :dunno:

To me, it looks more like it should be driven into something, and the thread used with a slide hammer for extraction if it gets stuck, but I can't think of a relevant lumber application.

My guess is it screws onto a piece of (sawmilling) machinery.
