First of two estate sale buys this past weekend. Craftsman magnetic torpedo level, Pexto tin snips, Barcalo DBE wrench, Disston tape measure, wizard combo wrench, two no-name prybars, a Husky mini Torx driver set, and an Indestro sliding T bar. Not bad for $4.50.

Hoof pick.  I believe it was being used to open paint cans.

This is my second estate sale buy this past weekend, and I am really excited about it.  I've been wanting an SK toolbox and a sharpening tool.  Now I have both.  Also picked up a Rigid 24-inch pipe wrench, an Atkins and Company No. 7 hacksaw, two oil cans, and a box of dowels, paint stirrers, and shims.

A hoof pick, huh, so for horses, never seen one,, nice 24” Rigid, they were always my fav, I had like two of every size from 8-30” + a 36”, now I found those two 6” and only have like a 12”,, my trade was to take all the paint off then put an invisible grip on 1/3 of the handle and then an invisible protectant over the whole thing, I thought they looked cool, yet everyone else thought they were worthless and wouldn’t take them because they figured they would instantly rust being bare metal,  nice oil cans too!

This is the third of three tool boxes I bought two weeks ago.  It isn't pretty, but it is a large, Dallas, Texas,  Giller Tools box for a 1/2 inch drive socket set.  This is the largest Giller socket set box I've seen in the wild.  It came with an eclectic selection of sockets and a McKaig Hatch wrench. I'm hoping to straighten it out and paint it. Sockets include Snap-On, Giller, Thorsen, Craftsman, Proto Challenger, and Wright.

Estate sale buy. Two 10 piece Klein 3/8 drive socket sets.  A P&C pair of pliers, a very solid Fuller adjustable wrench, a no name 4.75 single bit axe, a no-name pry bar, and a 54-inch Hargrave, Cincinnati Tool Co bar clamp.

Interestingly, there were lots of oils and no tools at this estate sale.  On the last day of the sale at 50% off, I paid $1 per bottle or less. I also picked up a full container of Krylon glass paint and a full bottle of CLR. The box of o-rings and some other hardware completed the purchase. I picked up my penchant for random oils and chemicals from Sparky.

Yadda. I have been looking at your posts you have collected a lot of cool rusty stuff. I too collect old tools mainly hammers, Hatchets, and floor installation tools. I live with chronic pain you can find me in my shop regrinding and polishing old tools any time day or night. This week I picked up a beat-up Case with a broken tip, Imperial boy scout knife, a nice blue Frammer, and three Opinels one with a broken tip for 30.00. I also bought 20oz Eswing rip hammer for 3.00. I reground the tips and ground the edge on the Case and the Opinel. With a few licks on a diamond plate, they were razor-sharp and very nice to work with.

Happy hunting,
Mike

This weekend's estate sale buys were big winners. Cool buys in the lot are the pair of Workmate hold down clamps and a Workmate router attachment.  Other items include the Coastal bar clamps, a tree limb saw, and a Craftsman corner clamp.  The Delta drum sander kit and the kitchen sharpening stone were unexpected finds.     Hard to leave full cans of BLO and stain when the price is less than 50 cents.   I paid 16.00.
