A small estate sale buy today.  I filled a few spots in my Xcelite set.  The best buy was the vintage Ray Ban Wayfarer II, Tortoise Shell sunglasses, and case for $3.

Tortoiseshell isn't my thing (my recently purchased Oakley Frogskins have black frames), but $3 for those Wayfarers is an absolute steal! :tu:

The estate sale was half price today, so I brought home some woodworking goodies. Craftsman 7-inch parallel clamps, a Pony and two made in China pipe clamps, an Ace Hardware, Master Mechanic axe, and a Texan York nut sheller.  The 3/4 inch galvanized pipe, purchased new,  would have cost me more than I paid for the lot.

I didn't think the axe would be there.  It really should have sold the day before.  For $7.50, I couldn't leave it.

This is my PI Day estate sale buy. Four packs of coping.blades in assorted TPI.  Champion Plugmaster II 3/8 ratchet.  Crescent L-28 thin nose pliers, Plomballoy 10-inch adjustable wrench, Lufkin X686 round tape measure. S-K and Snap-On sockets, Dunlap stubby screwdriver, Utility ratcheting screwdriver, and a General No. 301 pocket depth gage.   I've been looking for a Plombaloy adjustable wrench for a long time.  To me, it is one of those iconic marketing names that is synonymous with the Plomb tool line. All for $8.

It is neat.  I'll post more pics soon.

It is really tiny.   Another nice addition to my machinist box.

JR

Thanks!  It should clean up and look even better with the rust removed.  I justified buying it, because it is bigger than any I owned and it was $2.

I now have the 3/8 and 1/2 drive set of Craftsman speed handles with the fancy knob.  The Plomb was unexpected.  I didn't realize it was a Plomb until I got it home.  I've passed up several very affordable crow bars lately.  I didn't have one this size and it was little used.  So for $2, why not?

Yesterday's estste sale buy.  The really cool item is the folding handle draw knife.  Another neat buy is the partial set of Craftsman six point combination wrenches.  Greenlee cable cutter, Diamond wire snips, two Vise-Grips, more screwdrivers I don't need, and lots of wrenches.

I looked for six-point wrenches recently, and was disappointed to see that they're kinda hard to find. Great score on that basis alone! :2tu:

At a yard sale a week ago, I ran across this Craftsman 3hp miter saw. Many times, buying used benchtop power tools is buying other people problems.  This time, for $20, I think it was worth it.  I think I can get my money back. It was manufactured in Taiwan.

I'm saying it's quite worth it. But take that with a grain of salt...my knowledge of power tools ain't the greatest.
