Tony that hammer reminds me of the Aussie made BAK I sent Dennis  :ahhh :ahhh :D :D.

Not sure if this was the 3rd or 6th WD40 bath I gave it  :ahhh :D :D

It came up kinda OK   :D :D , a lot of work for something that should of been given the last rights  .

Dennis likes tools with 'history' I think that Whittingslowe had just a little too much of a past  :D :D

Now get in that cold room/shed & get chipping on that hammer  Tony  :pok: :pok: :D :D

First of the season for me too.  Managed two this morning. The second with family in tow as the boys like to ride on the model steam trains they have running around the edge of the field.

A few old bits of electronics and a few even older tools.  No SAKs or knives though.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Likewise Neil. There was a few sheffield slippies, but not really my thing. Picked up a new front wheel for my bike.

We're all trying to keep them on the road longer than we used to  :-\

Back on track.  I've got a cool little Rabone Chesterman flexible mini rule from today's outing.  I wish they still made them, they'd sell like hot cakes to the maxpedition pocket stuffing members :D

Chesterman? Is it like the little folding-section one you sent me awhile back?   <rummaging around looking for it now>

Same company but this is just a single piece.  Its all bendy and flexible and thin enough to use as a bookmark in a notebook.  Most importantly for me it has metric measurements which a lot of the old tools don't.

Not a SAK in sight this morning but I did get a nice woodworking vice that's missing its handle  :)
and some more woodworm to add to the collection  ;)

(Image removed from quote.)

I finally got around to making a new handle for my Marples (6" wide) woodworking vice today  :tu:

Tony you could lock the vise pull the screwdriver out & then chisel away  :P
ALTHOUGH if you break your multichisel that leaves the work locked in the vise  :ahhh you could use a sledge hammer to extract the piece of work but there is the issue of the sledge hammer being used as structural support (trust me I have seen photos of Tony's workshop  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :D)

Well made enough cash for petrol (if we can buy it lol) for our holiday so sorted, while there i had a look around and found this fake MOP handled jowika of northern ireland pocket knife for £2  :tu: needs a good clean up but a nice solid old knife,  :tu:

some info,
Jowika Stahwlarenfabrik Eugen Weber & Altenbach KG was the full name of this German mfr of low-end mass market cutlery. It began prior to 1928 under the name Kleinwefers; became Jowika some time prior to 1939.

Jowika opened a branch factory in Listowel, Ireland, in 1960, which was acquired by Imperial Schrade in 1978. Closed about a year and a half before Schrade closed.

Finally a British church group organised a car boot sale near me and I went to it, yesterday.

Al they had was books and children’s toys... no tools, no knives...
  :D

Al : "Women!"
