I went to see a car boot sale a couple of weeks ago and there was 1 car there..  >:(

So, I got these butter knives for 10c each (I am sure they are worth at least twice that!! ) from a charity shop, because I thought they looked cute and were cheap and UK made..

The Harrods one has a plastic handle and the other one wooden.

What you need to do is show us one of these car boot sales at the meet-up mate, we'll stop you buying anything. ;)

A man cant have to many axes and hammers. Good looking axes there Tony. On this side of the pond that type of axe often bring good money depending on the maker and condition. Some of these axe collectors have very deep pockets.    :)

Keep in mind how much the postage to the US has gone up this year guys. Axes are not known for their feather like weights :)

A small hatchet costs around £14-15 to send from the UK to the US and that's without any tracking or insurance  :ahhh

It was sweltering here by mid morning.  Judging by the scanty attire of some individuals at the car boot there will indeed be some very sore people by tomorrow!

Big haul for me today but of interest to those on this forum would be, a rusty BAK,a 74mm Wenger (VIP I think is the moniker it goes under) and a couple more folding electrician's screwdrivers.  I now have three of those so need to thin them before I end up with a heard :)

:pok: Tony do I see another rusty "bush worrier" in your pile?

I got myself a 'Tony Special' a couple weekends ago. I could not believe it when I stumbled on it in a pile of rusty old cack  :o 8). I looked at it & thought 'that looks like one of those Footprints Tony talks about'  immediately I looked to see if it had it's original factory adjustment bolt & sure enough it did  8) 8).

I asked 'how much for the old footprint'? I am sure the fella had absolutely no idea what a 'Footprint' was  :D :D but when I showed him the rusty old thing he said 'five bucks' , Done  8) :D.

I know a certain cantankerous bath tape that may be meeting Mr.Footprint  :D

It took quite a bit of work to get the rust off the old thing ,various sized wire wheels & then a good vinegar bath , Tony style  ;) :D. It was surprising how quickly the rust would reappear on the Footprint after I had cleaned it  :o , old fellas must of oiled their tools quite frequently

I did some Googling & Footprint is still a ongoing concern & still based in Sheffield UK  8) here is there website http://www.footprint-tools.co.uk/index_home.htm, I read some sellers listing the wrench as having only a 12 month warranty ??? :think: :think:. The website lists the handle end as being a screw driver ;

looks more like a pry bar to me  >:D :D :D

"Downunder Mod (that sounds dirty, doesn't it?)"

Nice clean-up job Mat. :tu:  My old Footprints have a nice dark patina on them and never need oiling, I'm guessing your cleaning has just taken it back to virgin metal and it'll just need a little time to get used to being exposed to the air. :D

Great find Mat  :D

5th picture down...... Now that's what I call a good screw!

They are like Gremlins they come with some rules  :salute:
Let them rust up a little then rub with an oily cloth
It will bugger up the finish on said bath tap
Only do the screw up finger tight
They only work in one direction
Don't squeeze them like pliers, just hook them on and push with the heel of your hand

The 'screwdriver' is great for opening tins of paint
