Some new Leathermans came in.

ari6126 was kind enough to offer getting me some of the new Leathermans. I jumped on that like a fat kid on a smarty. His package just arrived today. A big thank you to you sir.  :salute:

Here is what I received.  Two Styles, a Style CS, and a Squirt PS4


The Leatherman Style is a tiny tool. I was not prepared for its Lilliputian size. In fact, I sort of gave a chuckle when I saw them for the first time. Come to think of it, looks like a challenge to a Victorinox Classic or a Wenger Esquire. All 3 tools have the same functionality from what I can see. A word of warning, I almost cut myself by trying to close the blade and forgetting that it opens the other way from all the other tools on it. Why Leatherman didn’t have them all close in the same direction is beyond me.
 

The style CS is the cutest thing I have ever seen. Take the shape of the Skeletool, exchange the pliers for scissors, add a few little changes, and shrink the whole thing.



You get a knife, a file, and a pair of removable tweezers that slide into a holster just above the carabineer clip/bottle opener.



Just to show you how small the Style CS is…



The Leatherman Squirt PS4 doesn’t look like any of the other Squirt tools. This new version is all about angular lines and I find it isn’t half as sexy as the older versions.

Amazon adjusted the ship date for my Style and PS4 to mid June, from mid July... I can't wait, well, I have to, but I want them now!

No problem. Glad they got there. The reason I don't see myself ever buying a Style is because it has less functionality than the little SAKs. You give up a toothpick or (far more useful to me) a pen. Chako, did you find the packaging a little excessive on these guys?

The packaging was over the top, and a bear to get into I might add.

Nice pics!  I notice you've got a Micra too.  How does the Style CS compare to it?

I've been EDCing my Micra for years and haven't yet found anything worthy of replacing it.
Who knows...

Not exactly sure to be honest. I do like the mini Skeletool styling. Not so happy about the curved handle, but then, that was one of my dislikes of the Skeletool. I just found it didn't fit my hand as well as it could. Ergonomics vary for person to person though.

The Style CS has less functionality then the Micra. It does however have a removable tweezers that is far better than the attached one found on the Micra. Borrowed it seems from the one found on the Squirt S4, albeit of a slightly different shape. The bottle opener carabineer combo works better then the Micras bottle opener, or so I found when I tested them on a few bottles of Jones soda.

The Style CS is a neat little MT that mimics the popular Skeletool shape, has less functionality, but does some of them better then the Micra. You would have to get yourself one and see if it fits your needs.

The new Style CS has been my EDC for over 3 weeks now. I've carried a Vic Manager for at least 15 years and the CS has replaced it. For a small, pocket carried knife/tool it's design is near perfect. Looks great too - my compliments to the Leatherman folks. Makes me want a Skeletool CX.

I would have to get one for myself, eh?  Great, I'm here one day and already getting talked into a new toy...

Seriously, I like my Skeletool, but I removed the clip.  It wasn't siting comfortably, so I've been pocket carrying it.  This new Style CS would be a lot easier to carry when I only need a blade & bottle opener.  I might have to get one.
