Mod on SOG S-62
on: August 15, 2007, 04:25:34 PM

Pretty simple ( simple mods for simple people ), just removed the 1/4" "drive, saw and file then ADDED: scissors, straight blade and the serrated blade ( S62 now has 3 blades total with the 1/2 and 1/2 blade.). May not fit everyones needs but it's just what a I need to do my job.
Why do I carry a 45 ?
Because they don't make a 46 !

*sigh* Too bad all makes weren't as easy to modify as a SOG. Nice job Andrew, way to make your S62 more specific to your needs.

BTW, what will you be doing with the leftover blades?

Aint that the truth   :D Anyway, cool mod. That's a whole lot of cutting power in one tool- 3 knives, a V cutter, & scissors  :o

I put them up for sale in the " TRADE FORUMS " a while back - they are long gone and now reside in Australia.

The new serrated Line Cutter combines the subtle serration of a blade, and the handy hook shape of a V-Cutter, all into one component.

Just picked up another SOG on ebay and this is going to be one of the implements for sure !!

I wonder if that is really considered a serration or not?  It seems more like a Kriss style blade to me!

Speaking of SOG blades, I'm still intrigued by this one:

Anybody heard when it will be available?

Did anyone ever figure out how the wire stripper works?  Do you have to hold it closed with your fingers?

I'd be curious as well. If it's just "finger power", it could work well for stripping, but cutting wire might be a little to much work :o I guess there's still the cutters in the pliars though...

The ends stick out a long way beyond where the stripper notches are, probably for leverage.

I'll bet it's finger power operated.

What I don't get is that what looks like the cutter part is closest to your fingers, where you'll get the least leverage. ???

Hmmm, good point. I was focused on the stripper notches and overlooked the cutting section. It appears like there may be another cutting section in near the pivot?
