Neil,

Your bailed Champion is beautiful.  I have a Champion of similar vintage, but no where near as a nice (and no box!)

Really nice SAk!

I've only got that one box like it.  I like the fact that the shop has its its name on the blade (not uncommon for the age) and it matches the little label in the box.  I'm guessing the little leather pouch in the box is original to the package.  Again, the only one I've ever seen.

It is a Princess, Neil.  I still really love that TeleChrome - or even the Heinz SAKs you have. :)

Thanks :tu:  I put the question mark there as the Princess' I've seen have all had keyrings.  And you know what Vic. naming conventions are like :D

IIRC, the one Princess I have lacks a keyring, though the name is "confirmed" as it's what's printed on the box... still, I say we call it, just to be safe... Golfer. ;)

The Alternative Shield Super Tinker and Armee Spartan are neat; any known history behind them?  I remember the SwissBianco Armee OHT, but truth be told, I don't get the "Armee" designation. :/

Nope sorry.  As you are probably already aware the alternate shield supposedly is used in countries where the Swiss Cross is less welcome.  No idea where that is though as you hardly ever seen this version of the shield.

I must say I really envy those bees you use as a signature for your photos. Besides adding humour to a lot of them, you definitely know who took a picture where a tiny surprised-looking glass bee has a SAK up its a**. Been wanting to do something similar but got no ideas.

Great pictures, of course. Quite the collection. That MoP executive is droolworthy, even if I don't particularly like the toolset  :gimme:

Have you ever de-scaled one of these? If the lanyard thingy is stuck to the scales, that can't last for long, and if it goes all the way through the brass rods they have to be using special hollow brass rods or something, which would certainly be useful for people who want SAK pocket clips...

The brass rods are solid and are peened into the bail.  They are near on impossible to remove without a drill.  They were phased out at the end of the sixties due to cost and the fact people kept chipping the main blade on them.

Neil I'm just now browsing through this thread fully and I must say Kudos! on some damn fine photography. :tu: The pictures are fascinating, and like Cptnodegard says, fun to browse through because of the way you've arranged them with the "minions" and all :D :D
