I think I'm in love!!   I just received my SOG Pocket Powerplier today and I love it! I think I've finally found my edc multitool. There is a bunch of bang for your buck on this tool. Just the most basic of tools, but the ones that I use almost daily for my edc needs. I really don't mind the clumping and most times I don't need loking tools, so with the addition of the compound leverage that this tools offers, I'm one happy camper.

Pictures first thing tomorrow...   :salute:

BTW, I have a (S45) Pocket Powerplier Deluxe on the way.   :gimme:

Good on ya!

I think SOG tools are a lot better than many people give them credit for. I think the only major problem most people have with them is the length of time it takes to get to a specific tool.

I think the PT-510 is even better. Got gear covers and the best pliers on any multitool I've used.

  • I'm not all bad, I'm just drawn that way.
Hope you enjoy the P45 as much when it gets there :)

I quite like the 1/4" bit adapter when you need a few extra bits to hand.

I simply love the size and weight of this tool. I really think I'm staying with this one for awhile. I do have to check out the 510 though.  :tu:

The PT-510 has some speSmurfpillsed tools that you may not need but its easy enough to swap SOG parts into it.  Its worth grabbing one if you like the PPP :tu:
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Yep John get yourself a PT-510 & sub in the PPP's tools you want & you have a much better PPP , I reckon(those gear covers are tops). I was sad to see my one go.

Another reason that I love this tool is because it makes a nice impact weapon.  >:D  I know impact weapons are not very popular here, but they're a must in my world.  :D

Mat, great idea mate!

The PPP seems to be another "Marmite" tool. You either love it or hate it, with no middle ground.

I'm not a fan myself - gimme a PST any day, but pleased you have something that's working for you there John

The PPP is the only SOG , other than the original Toolclip that I like . GG , I doubt you will stay with it , you are about the most promiscuous Multidude I know !

One thing I don't get with SOG , in multi's the cast plier heads are the weakest link . What the hell do you want gear driven nasties to increase the stress on lite to medium duty components ? Please understand , I would love the concept if the heads were forged or billet cut , with all respect : I just don't see how it can be a good idea .

Yea maybe SOG could start producing billet cut heads like with the Multitasker, that would be pretty sweet.  :tu:

My main issue with them is the lack of a number two phillips.  Number one is useful but not to the exclusion of a number two.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I wish all multi manufactures would sub out their pliers to Klien , or a couple of Swiss outfits I've come across . Then the beasts could really do some Mayhem .

I might get one , play with the load out , easy pocket clip modification is an attractive idea . I might lighten it down to a bare minimum . I rather doubt I would stick with it ,but it might be interesting to play with .
