Survivorman and OHO

Amici,
I was watching some Survivorman episodes on dvd last night, and everyone where Les Straud used a Leatherman MT be it the Surge, Charge TTI, or even the Original Wave, it seems that he doesn't know or doesn't prefer to utilize any of these MT's OHO ability.. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

Having an accident in his situation could be life or death.

I imagine he uses two hands by choice to lessen this chance. Better be safe than sorry when you don't need the speed of OHO, especially when you're probably shaking from hunger, cold, or other natural ailments.
