WHEN DID THE PST MODEL CAME OUT TO THE MARKET?
on: September 25, 2007, 07:37:35 PM
I really don't know when exactly does the PST hit the market, the oldest one that I have is a 1991 is like you all know is stamped inside the handles, do you have an older one?
Enjoy!

The original PST actually came out in '83, but I don't know when they actually started referring to it as the PST.

The very first Leatherman tools were stamped Pocket Survival Tool (not "Personal", which came along later). They did not have the date code stamps, and there was no lanyard attachment clip. Also, the earliest tools were held together with rivets instead of knurled screws. Most surprisingly, they were marked LEATHERMAN JAPAN on the knife blade.

This is great info, thanks for the link, Ill try to post pics of what I found here in Miami may be a first production PST but I left it home and I think could be one with rivets instead of screws.
How much one of this tools can be now?

Thanks.
Enjoy!

How much money are they worth? Depends on who the buyer is. A collecter would pay much more than a "user" guy would, obviously. Also depends on what shape it is in.
