My C2 Centurion came today
on: June 21, 2010, 06:06:17 PM
Hello everyone, I got a Surefire C2 today in the mail for a razor trade with another forum.  My first impression is wow.  This thing makes a Maglite feel cheap.  It also makes the Romisen RC-N3 2 also seem cheap.  It is hard to comepare an LED beam to an incandescent beam because of the color difference.  The Romisen is white and the C2 is yellow.  However to my eyes the Romisen looks brighter but the C2 looks more natural.   This is my first "high end" flashlight and the build quality of the C@ is better than anything I own.  Now the question is do I keep the incandescent bulb in it and get poor battery life or do I put an LED drop-in in it and get better battery life but a whiter light?  What about a "natural " LED drop-in?  :)
On to batteries, what do you use in your C2 flashlight?  This light has 2 Surefire Cr123's in it.  Thanks for the help and now I have my first "high end" flashlight.

When In doubt, C4

IMO, a neutral or warm white LED is the best combination of runtime, brightness and color.  Neutral white is my preference--it has good color without appearing yellow.

Do you have any recommendations or items you have used?  Do you use primary or rechargeable batteries in your light?

I use Energizer Lithiums in my CR123 lights, but have used other brands with no real difference.

Hi lovenhim. You can put a R2 or the newer R5 drop-in and make your SF really bright! You can also use RCRs in it.
That's what I did. ;)

Nice light, lovenhim

I recommend Malkoff dropins.  I always use rechargables in my lights, but I don't typically use CR123 format lights any more.  I no longer own any Surefires.
