New-to-you Gerbers
on: August 22, 2007, 05:31:09 PM
So what Gerber tool have you picked up lately? I know at least 2-3 of use that have just gotten one or have one in the mail (it's on the way eodtech :D)

Thanks to Papacat and the EDC swap I received this new tool last week.

Behold, the Gerber 800 Legend!

So far I like it. It's a little to fat, a little too heavy and a little too big but it has excellent utility and spring-loaded pliers so I've been using it a lot tinkering around the house. Something new and different for me, it's only my second outside opening tool.

Great picture,s mate  :)

Those 800's really do look like a beast of a tool :)

Even the freehand doesn't look quite so enormous along side an 800 :o

I have been meaning to get another Gerber, but alas current funding has kept me from any new tools recently.

I think I may just have to get an Auto Recoil sometime soon though.

I've been a little slack on the multi-tool front this summer with cycling and helping the grand daughter get ready for the school year. The Diesel and Freehand are on my list to buy. The 800 pics point out another Gerber innovation, the replaceable carbide cutter bits.

Ya know that 800 definatly Is somethig to look into. But I got to ask is the file real, or just one of those pieces of metal with cross hatch in it. I do use my file alot and really hate the ones that are not really good.

And what kind of sheath?

The file looks quite aggressive to me in the picture on the gerber website...

And the sheath's good ole Ballistic nylon :)
